I'm currently hacking away at an update- I'm just popping out of bacta and realizing that I'm more mechanical than I'd prefer to be. All I've set so far as location goes is a moving ship with some technicians and a bacta center. I can be wherever I need to be and provide some filler.

I'm felling "Creative," which typically means "Really hard obstable for the character to overcome/greusome death or two," so if I do post this it will be lacking considerably in terms of my usual humor... Not done yet, but if you'd like some filler I'd be glad to provide it. Quick question- anybody mind if I either A) Use their force-sensative character for something or B) (Failing A) create my own force-sensative-padaawan-style-character? I have some ideas about cool, slightly corny lines to use for when I kill myself off, and I'd like to make the arc of some of these ideas extend as far as possible.

OOC: First and foremost, it seems like I need to 'crack the whip' a little bit.

Krytos, I know I said I'd PM you when finals got done. Well, I'll be honest. I forgot. Right now my plan is to have a few conversations with the captain of my flagship during the two weeks leading up to the battle with Zoot. He'll tell me in one of those conversations that there's a tracking device just begging to have someone find it. HEY! Just had a thought. You up to stowing away again? It's something that one or both of us would have to run by Paul, but if you and Paul are willing, we could put you on one of his ships.

Tofu, how comes your post?

Tex, I think the two of us will have to make a couple posts just to keep things relatively simple. I'll post now, we can go over yours, you can post, I'll write my next one, we'll review that, I'll post, you write, we review, you post. I'm sure an old fogy like you can understand what I'm saying.

Def, where are you? You're too important of a character to just disappear now. Get your ass in here, figure out what's going on, and write your post.

Paul, sit back and wait.

JH, have you started writing anything yet? Did you get a look at your assignment? I might end up changing it a little bit. In fact, I will. That means I now have to edit the post I was planning on pasting in here, but I had to do some of that anyway. How does a fleet commission sound? I think a Colonel with only another 36 posts until his next promotion should be able to handle it. I won't edit you into this post until you decide.

I think that's everybody, so on with the story!

IC: Mitth remained in his chair as Conway walked from the room. Thirty seconds after the door closed he turned to Lt. Charles. "Thank you. You may go now."

"Yes, Admiral."

Mitth sat in the conference room thinking for the next couple minutes. Then he got up and started walking towards the bridge. When he walked through the door he heard an enlisted man bark out, "Admiral on the bridge!"

"As you were," Mitth said. "Captain Harsh, how goes the evacuation?"

"Just fine, so far. We're actually running about 25 minutes ahead of our initial projections. We should be done within the hour."

"Great work, Captain. Anything else I need to know about?"

"General DarthTex was trying to get a hold of you about five minutes ago. He said he was going to be busy, but Control would be able to find him."

"Excellent. When the evacuation is complete, I want you to move us one light year above the galactic plane. Make sure we stay out of sensor range of Zoot's forces. Did you track Conway's ship?"

"We managed to slip a tracking device onto his shuttle. We should be able to pinpoint his location anywhere in the galaxy."

"How did you manage that?"

"We made sure the Moff parked in a very specific spot, then released a Nuruodo tracking device. You remember the ones."

"Ah, yes. The ones I patterned after Zsinj's Morrt Project. I hope it makes it to the Tarkin. Good job, Mike. Try to slip a drone into orbit around Jupiter. I want to know what Def and Zoot are doing, if at all possible. Drop another drone into orbit around Pluto. Scouts will then retrieve reports sent from the Jupiter drone to the Pluto drone, standard protocols for the scouts."

"Three jumps each way. Understood, Mitth. Would you like me to call Control to find the general, or will you be doing that yourself?"

"Call Control. When Tex calls back, transfer the call to my ready room. I'm heading there now."

Not more than two minutes after Mitth sat down, Tex was calling. "Mitth."

"Mitth, it's Tex. How did your meeting go?"

"Well enough. We have a potential ally against Zoot. I don't trust him as far as I could throw him with my real arm though."

"Mitth, you don't trust me as far as you could throw me with your real arm."

There was a hint of humor in Tex's voice, something that caused Mitth's sarcastic mind to respond to with, "Now that is just not true, Tex! I don't trust you as far as I could throw you with my mechanical arm. I'll give you more details when we can talk in person. You understand, I'm sure. How soon will it be practical for you to get up here?"

"I can leave on the next transport. You've got some good people here, Mitth. I haven't really had to do anything."

"Do that then. I'll have someone meet you in the docking bay and escort you to my ready room."

"Sounds good, Mitth. I'll see you soon."

"Thanks, Tex. Mitth, out." After Mitth cut the connection he hit the intercom. "Captain Harsh, come to my ready room, please." When the door slid open he said, "Captain, General Tex is coming aboard on the next transport to lift from the moon. Have an escort meet him and bring him here."

"Right away, Admiral. Will there be anything else?"

"Not now, Mike. I'll let you know."

"Sounds good, Mitth."

"Once again, good work, Captain. Oh, I need the forms for Tex's promotion to Admiral. That'll be all for now."

"Very well, sir."

Not too long after that, Tex walked through the door. "Admiral, I'm impressed with what little I've seen of your ship so far."

"Thank you, General. Have a seat. A Grand Moff Conway, claiming to lead the remnants of the Empire, contacted me and offered self-destruct codes to a Kaiser-class SSD, the Blitzkrieg. Specs I was given say it's the size of an Eclipse-class, with six times the firepower of the Executor-class that you see in Rebellion. I'm not sure of his motives, but I'm almost certain he's up to something."

"He's an Imperial, and a Moff at that, of course he's up to something. Still, a Kaiser-class Destroyer. Can we really afford to go up against that? I don't know what kind of power you've got here, but I don't think you can take on that kind of firepower. What did he want for the codes?"

"He wants to rescue someone taken from him. I got the impression from the way he talked about them that it was a she, and that she meant something to him. I don't think he can afford to betray us until after he's got her. He also said he was going to capture Zoot. I'm not sure he can, but I'm willing to give him a shot at it. One less Imp is a good thing in my book. By this time there's a tracking device on his Carrack. There's no way he can know about it. I designed, built, and programmed the thing, and I couldn't find it on any ship I put it on. I had every tech on Home Two looking for it, trying everything all of us could think of; no one found it. We went so far as to trace the signal. We still couldn't find it. It will find its way to Conway's flagship.

"The plan is to meet with his fleet in two weeks, get into position, transmit the codes, and show up five minutes after the transmission is received. The self destruct is on a five minute timer, giving most of the crew the chance to evacuate. With the Blitzkrieg destroyed the rest of the battle should just be a mopping up action. This ship can take on, and take out, an Eclipse-class SSD. Our shields are redundant enough that in a battle with the Eclipse we can get away without suffering much in the way of hull damage, if any. Mon Remonda was an MC-80. Then there was the MC-90. The -90 was designed as a warship. The -80 was, for the most part, converted into a warship. Home Two is, essentially, an MC-150. 500 turbolaser batteries, 650 ion cannons, 30 proton torpedo tubes, 25 concussion missile batteries, 40 squadrons of XJ5 series X-Wing fighter/interceptors, and 30 squadrons of B-Wing bombers. We're also equipped with gravity-well projectors. Even with Yavin, I don't want to go against Zoot right now. Maybe if Sunfire were here. Yavin is just and MC-40. Sunfire is a Viscount-class Star Defender, roughly equivalent to an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. Maybe then we could stand a chance at Blitzkrieg, but not the rest of the fleet. We need Conway's ships. We get the remains from the battle, minus the Blitzkrieg, and Conway's current fleet.

"Conway claims that he met me when he first became a Grand Moff. Back when I was an Imperial; back when my name was Thrawn. He said something about a Sith technique used to transfer memories to a cloned body being the reason I don't remember the meeting." Something in that last sentence started a little bell ringing in the back of Mitth's mind. He shook his head to clear it away. Something to think about when I've got more time. That may not happen for a couple weeks, Mitth thought.

Noticing the change in his friend and commander Tex asked, "Something wrong, Admiral?"

"No, just a thought. It's nothing, I'm sure."

"It may be the Force acting upon you. You need to listen now. You've had this lesson before. Have you not learned it yet?" Mitth's eyes started to shift to black again. As this happened Tex said, "Yes. Let the anger build. Now take it and bury it. Hold on to that anger. You'll need it in the coming days and weeks. Now tell me your thought."

Mitth buried his anger as best he could. A black ring remained around the edges of his eyes, though. I'll have to make sure he learns to watch his mouth, and not say things to deliberately piss me off. "It was more of an impression than a thought, really. It wouldn't stick around long enough to allow me to grab it to analyze. It's gone now."

"Maybe we'll be able to find it again once we begin your training. We'll be spending about 15 hours a day in training, that should leave you with time to sleep and work on your shuttle, although you may have to turn fleet affairs over to Captain Harsh. I trust he's competent enough to trust him with that?"

"Absolutely. He wouldn't be in command of Home Two, otherwise. However, I'm not entirely certain that a captain should be in charge of a fleet."

"Admiral, you've got a young commander I met earlier today, goes by the name JediHunter. I think he's entitled to a promotion. I think a colonel should be sufficient for managing fleet affairs."

"Very well," Mitth hit the intercom button. "Captain, I'll need forms for a promotion from commander to colonel."

As he released the intercom Mitth heard, "Right away, Admiral."

Mitth turned back to Tex and said, "Now that that's out of the way, what sort of a training regimen did you have in mind?"

"Two weeks isn't nearly enough time for any truly effective training. Therefore I think your...crash course, for lack of a better term, should include moving objects around, awareness of the world around you, tapping the Dark Side power, while maintaining control, and maybe even influencing the "weak minded," if you learn things quick enough and well enough."

Mitth stood up from his desk chair. As he started for the door he said, "Walk with me." The Sith and his apprentice walked from the room. As they walked across the bridge Mitth waved Captain Harsh over. "Captain, DarthTex and I will be spending much of the text two weeks in rigorous training. Contact Control and have them get Commander JediHunter up here right away. When he shows up, have someone escort him to the Force-user training room. He'll be Brevet Fleet Commander while I'm learning about the Force. In the meantime, try and get Sunfire here ASAP. In the unlikely event Zoot's forces come back, use your best judgment. The information and equipment left in that base is more important than the physical ships that form the fleet. Zoot can not get them! Try to keep interruptions to a minimum. Keep up the good work, Mike."

With that the two Sith walked from the bridge, and into a large training room. Previous Force-users that had visited Home Two had used this room, and it was using their specifications that the room had originally been laid out.

OOC: I can try to get my post completed sometime within the next week or two. Right now I'm dealing with the joys of AP classes and ten page outlines due every week, as well as the bonus of being copy editor for over one hundred pieces of literature, some of which are quite long, each of which need to be critiqued and corrected come Wednesday... Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

I'll just set myself up on Home Two and interrupt your training with Tex for my purposes. Just checking- you will be on the strike team entering Zoot's base, right Mitth? Or is it going to be strictly Conway's forces assaulting the base?

BTW: I think your post got cut off at the end. Either that or you just gave it no sense of closure (Sorry if it's the second one- I'm still in critiquing mode.)

Edit in reply to Conway: Bugger.... I was kind of hoping to do something there with a strike team. Ah, well. I guess I'll put it off 'till later...

OOC: I've edited my previous post to work JH into the plot. The edits are in orange. Whoever finishes their post first can go ahead and put it up.

Krytos, Paul says that it's okay if you want to stow away on his shuttle. He just wants to post his next bit before you board, if you do. It's your decision.

Tofu, I left the last post that way for a reason.

OOC: Gentlemen, have you all collectively decided to let this RP die? If so, where was I when this decision was made? Let's see some new posts here, shall we?

@JH: I seem to remember getting and replying to a PM you sent me. How goes the post?

@Tex: I talked to Paul for all of 2 minutes the other night. He said he was going to talk to you that night. I haven't talked to him since. How is your post coming?

@Def: Are you even looking at this thread anymore?

@Krytos: Do you want to stow away again, or return to Q Branch?

OOC: Meh, I've got my next post ready somewhere. As for stowing away again - I was kinda waiting to see what you had in mind for the stow away thing. I hide on GMC's ship, but for what purpose? Where would that head? What about cheese? Why can't I have cheeese?!

OOC: Krytos, Tofu, when ever you are ready, go ahead. Paul, you're right. I do know that you're ready. That's why I didn't say anything to you before.

@Tex: I'm aware that you may not have read my previous post. That's fine. Shoot me an e-mail when you get a chance. Just let me know how things are coming. Maybe we could work out a time to hold a chat even.

OOC: Its coming, I promise. I wont say this too loud, but work is the only place I can really work on my post. However, work is really busy lately so Ive been unable to work on it too much due to that I'm not taking my breaks and just getting through lunch quickly.. but Its slowly coming. It should be done soon. I'm gonna get in touch with Tex about a few things, but other than that I think I'm good..

Oh snap-sizzle! This will make things very interesting given that now everyone who's left behind DNA gets to fight themselves. Plus my guy, who's already struggling with the large number of disfigurements he's experianced, get's to face a fully-biological him... Me... Whatever. Right. I'll try to finish up my filler some time. It won't be quite as funny as Krytos's (Honestly, I love some of that dialog, mate!) but it'll still be decent. Hopefully. My first attempt in a while to write something with little to no combat involved...

  • 2 weeks later...

The battle on base was over, but Mitth was in a sorry shape. The corpsman just patched him up with some bacta and painkillers, but he was still determined to organize the evacuation of the base. I was now in charge of finding casualties and ferreting out spies and stragglers.

"General", the Sergeant called lowly while looking over his shoulder, "the Admiral just gave the order to shutdown the YVH's, but your painted YVH's are still operational. Do you think they've been taken over?"

"It's OK Sergeant. The Admiral's orders only affect the YVH's assigned to his base. The 'Tex' YVH's are under my command. We can't have every single YVH controlled by a single person, or the enemy may find a way to take control from us. When we get back to the hangar I'll shut them down there. I don't want to leave my YVH's sitting around collecting dust. Let's work our way back to the maintenance hangar and then we'll organize our task."

Several minutes later the Admiral contacted me; I'm now in charge of the base evacuation as the Admiral is going to meet with some Grand Moff of the Empire. 'The Empire' ... I hate those words. They equate to deceit, jealousy, arrogance and pain. This I've personally learned; they're not to be trusted. But I've got a task to accomplish, and quickly. My thoughts are starting to become pre-occupied with the future ...

"Control. This is DarthTex, what's your status?"

"We're still secure here, sir. Shuttles are arriving for the evacuation, and they should be complete before the base becomes un-inhabitable since Life Support is out."

"Very well. Stay put until I personally come to relieve you. Get ready to put all systems into "maintenance" mode when I arrive. I want everything ready to button up in a moment's notice."

"Yes, sir. Control out'"

************************************

Once at the maintenance hangar, I sent out score's of teams to sweep the base for casualties and enemy forces. Bringing in the wounded and base personnel were top priority. Enemy forces would be eliminated as necessary. I've sent several combat engineers out with the teams; after each room was searched for survivors or adversaries, the room doors were spot welded shut. I didn't want any enemy forces hiding in previously searched areas. All YVH's and their parts were being collected and piled up in the maintenance recycle bin, where they'll be slagged down into raw material. All corridor junctions had manned checkpoints, and the base was quickly coming under complete control. Several engineers had temporarily "jury rigged" Life Support giving us some extra time if needed, but it requires constant fixing. The unit was a mess and needs a total replacement. Things were moving like clock work, and I felt superfluous. I estimate it will take another hour for the evacuation to be complete. It was time for me to head out.

"Sergeant", I called. "Get a couple of men and some of the combat engineers. We're heading over to Control."

"Yes sir General."

The corridors were a hive of activity as personnel, wounded and YVH droids and parts were moving down the corridor. A light smoke hung in the air with the smell of burnt metal and such. Most was from the base doors being welded shut, but there was also the tint of blaster burns from combat. We moved aside as another group of corpsmen with wounded went by. It was then I had this nagging itchy feeling.

"Corpsman, halt. What's happened here?"

"Uh, this is Corporal Greene, sir. We found him bandaged up, waiting in the corridor for transport off base. His blaster overloaded and blew up in his face. His identity checks out with Control."

"It does, does it? OK. Corporal Greene, how are you doing?"

"Alright sir", the corporal responded from the bandaged head. "It feels like I had my face sucked off by a Mynock though."

"How long have you been a trooper son?" I asked subtlety moving my fingers.

"Just over ten years, sir."

"That's nice, a career man it seems. Since the training academy was destroyed on Carida, where did you do your training?" again my fingers were subtlety in motion.

"I was too young to go to Carida, sir. I trained on Bastion."

"Thanks Corporal. Corpsman, make sure you get a DNA or retinal ID on all personnel who can't be visually identified by several other legitimate base personnel. And lock up 'Corporal Greene' as a Zoot spy."

The 'corporal' was being escorted away by a couple of troopers as we made our way back toward Control. I tried to contact Mitth to give him a status on the evacuation, but he was still meeting with the Grand Moff. I left a message with Captain Harsh. It didn't take too much longer before we were outside the secured entry of Base Control.

"Control, this is DarthTex. I'm just outside the entry, open the door."

"Yes, sir. Just provide your clearance identification first."

"OK. Which would you like, my lightsaber through the door, or TX1836 Rusty Spur?"

"Yes, sir. I prefer the latter, sir."

The doors parted open, well actually it was several layered doors. Control was on top of things, and everything was ready to go.

"Set base shutdown for one hour fifteen minutes, that should be plenty of time. Have the base warning sound off for 10 seconds after an hour, then twice more at five minute intervals, and every minute thereafter. Tell the engineers down at Life Support to head out at the first warning."

"General, we have a message from Captain Harsh that the Admiral's meeting has finished."

I went to one of the secure comm. stations and contacted the Admiral. After a brief conversation, my task here was complete, and I was to be on my way to meet with Mitth. This next task would prove to be more challenging.

"Is everything ready to go?" I asked.

"Yes General. Anything else?"

"Yeah, make sure the Control door is secure when we leave, and don't forget to turn off the lights."

*****************************************

The way back through the base, and the trip up to Home Two was uneventful. The ship itself was something else, like a typical Mon Cal design, just on steroids ... lots of them. There was an escort waiting to taking me to Mitth's office, using the Admiral's private lift no less. The Admiral and I had a brief meeting regarding upcoming events with The Empire; then it was off for Mitth's training with "The Force".

The training room was round in shape, approximately 15 meters in diameter and 5 meters high. The floor and ceiling were concave shaped, with recessed lighting in concentric circles. There were no windows, and if there were any other doors they were concealed to look like the walls. The room was very quiet, sound and vibration isolated from the rest of the ship. The Admiral led me over to a small control console built into one of the wall panels. I brought up a setup screen and quickly browsed the training room capabilities.

"Admiral, if you would take a seat in the center of the room on the floor. Get as comfortable as you can. This first exercise will be about using the Force to explore and probe your environment. Your eyes can deceive you and the enemy will try to confuse you, but the Force sees all. Close your eyes." With that all of the lights went out. "Feel the Force inside of you and focus on it. Use it to see through your 'mind's eye' what is around you." After a push of a button, several training drones floated through the room. "What do you see here in the room Mitth?"

"Other than you, I sense five drones flitting about the room"

"Very good. Now, push your view further out, out into the ship. The further you look out from your location, the more your mind will see. The information grows exponentially. At some point your mind will become saturated with the amount of information you have. Use the Force now as a 'filter' to look for specific items, people or things. What is Captain Harsh currently doing?"

"The Captain is standing with an ensign, reviewing damage reports and such."

"Good Mitth. Now, focus your thoughts on 'danger'. Don't go all paranoid, as you'll be completely blinded by everything around you. You know you're safe on your ship, so just concentrate on the here and now." After a couple of minutes, one of the training drones made an attack near Mitth with a stun shot. This was followed by several other shots, all coming close but never hitting the Admiral.

"Did you 'see' the training drones attacking you Mitth?"

"Yes. Even before they shot, I knew which drone would shot and where. It was like … watching a re-run of a show, knowing what's going to happen before it even happens. Almost sort of like … déjà vu."

"Good. Let the Force guide you, filtering out the non-important and focusing on your immediate needs. Now, stand in the center of the room and open your eyes." I manipulated the room controls dropping the floor. The room transformed into a pit of concentric rings, with 1 meter wide rings 1 meter below the next; Mitth stood at the bottom looking up. "Your task is to make it to the top ring without being shot by the training drones. You may only advance up 1 ring at a time, and with each hit you must descend down 1 ring level. I'll time you … begin."

It took Mitth several tries before finally making it to the top. After a brief rest at the top, and between breaths he asked, "So, … how long … did I … take?"

"I didn't bother with timing you Mitth. The 'time' wasn't important, but it served as a motivation to get your best performance. I know you're still quite sore and in need of some rest, so just a few more exercises before we call it the day. Now, this time work your way to the bottom. But this time, with the lights out", I said with a smirk as the lights flicked off.

"Oh boy", was the only words muttered before the discharge of stun bolts began to fill the air.

The lessons continued on for the next couple of days starting out basically the same, but progressing with advanced techniques and more complex tasks. Mitth was proving to be an exceptional learner, but unfortunately there would be no time to hone his skills. They would more than likely be put to the test in direct combat. He would survive or he would die; my bet would be on the former.

The next coming lessons would be more complicated and more intensive than before, and … much more dangerous. I carefully had to plan these, Mitth's life and many others depended on it.

Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?

OOC: I apologize deeply for my tardiness in the posting of this story all.. but here it is.. for better or for worse..

It seemed my intuition was right, after the invasion and the temporary celebration of a victory I found out the truth in my own ways. Being the maintenance man around the base has it advantages, not many people expect much out of you and you can find out a lot just by what needs repairing.

I found out that the boss’ office was obliterated, along with half the area surrounding it. I deduced this was the point of the attack. I started to figure out a plan of repairing all the damaged AB-uglies that were still out there, I thought, finishing the remaining enemies, when the evacuation order came.

Great, I guess were just abandoning all this… I thought to myself. It makes sense now that none of the AB’s are back yet, I guess they’re heading to the ships; maybe I could get some repair work done on them there. In the meantime I’ll start repairing the damage to the ones currently in the maintenance bay.

I had finished repairing a couple AB’s, much to the delight of a few of the pilots I had met during the invasion, when it was time for me to evacuate. I was in my quarters gathering the necessary things for an evacuation when all of a sudden:

“Commander JediHunter?, this is control, you have an incoming message from Captain Harsh of Home Two.â€

Oh... Yeah. I'm supposed to be posting my own segment in here, aren't I? I sort of had one set up, but it sucked, so I guess I'll revise it to take everyone else's posts into effect... Is it cool if I get some perception from you or something in my post, Krytos? Presently I'm the only other force-user you've even met face-to-face, thus it makes the most sense.

Plus I'd get to fight, and pieces are so boring when there's no fighting involved...

Tofu, whenever you can, go ahead and post. Remember though, the sooner the better.

@Everyone involved: I need to go back and make a retroactive change due to JH getting promoted again since we set his new rank for the fleet. I'll be doing that now.

Chaos, Panic, Disorder, Destruction.....

My work here is done.
