OOC - Yah, a strategic retreat would be called for. Im guessing i would have pulled back all my forces immediatly, considering how I am playing this guy, rather that sacrificing some of them to save my own hide. Although the force i had could have taken yours. You had three ISDs, i had an ISD, two VSD, three Dreadnaughts, and two lancers.

Krevin cursed to himself, wondering where he had gone wrong. Everything had been so well planned. It would have been perfect, if it hadnt been for the arrival of those star destroyers. He still had no idea whose they were, but he knew that they werent imperial. No imperial would fire on another. For any reason. He looked down to the report on all the forces he had loast in the battle. A large number of his TIEs had fallen in the confusion, not knowing who to attack. A small portion of his gunboats had also been destroyed, but most had escaped. One of his dreadnaughts had sustained major damage during the whole fiasco, and would likely need a long rest in a shipyard to be ready for battle again.

Krevin leaned back in his chair, and pondered his next move. He could rally his forces, call in the rest of his fleet, and head back for another strike. But he knew it would be pointless. The rebels would be long gone by then, and he would find nothing but an empty base. he didnt even know if he could trust Admiral Redneck anymore, for he didnt know if he was truly loyal to him. This would take time to figure out. But until then, he would regroup, and prepare for his next move.

As he sat there and thought about this, a thought crossed his mind. There was one imperial who would fire on another. But he had though him to be long destroyed. Krevin tapped a few buttons on his console, and brought up the registry of all destoryers in the fleet. It wasnt up to date, but he knew it would be up to date enough. After a few minutes, he had his answer. He sat back, and smiled. It appeared that Zarin was more of a fool that he had thought. Turning against the empire was one thing, but allying himself with the rebels was another.

Krevin stood, and began to make his way back to the bridge. He had many things to do, and he needed the help of all his captains to come up with a new plan. With Zarin now in the picture, the empire had more of a fight on its hands than before. And Krevin had every intention of making sure that his little swath of space was free of such problematic pests. Either that, or bring said pests back into the empire.

David was quite surprised at the size of the fleet. Then out of no where another fleet arived and started distroying the Imps.

"Blue squadron stand back there is no need to interfere and get killed," he called into his commlink. Then he changed frequencies, in the process he came across a voice. It was the leader of one of the fleets it wanted to form a alliance with them.

"This is the leader of blue squadron, I here you and I am now about to talk to our leader, please stand by."

"Admiral Umic this is blue leader. The fleet that has just come out of hyperspace wants to form an alliance, what are your orders regarding the matter?"

"Comtact them and tell them we will acsept there offer if they destroy the Imperial fleet then I would like to see their leader imidiately."

"Yes sir."

David got in contact with the strange fleet.

"Destroy the Imperial fleet then send your leader to see ours to talk." This was all David managed before he got caught in some cross fire...

Admiral Zarin boarded his shuttle destined for the Rebel base. Acompanying him was his best squadron of Stormtrooper. If the Rebels did anything to him, the Star Destroyers were under orders to kill every last Rebel and capture anything that might be of even the slightest use. The Rebels would be forced to comply.

With the Imperial fleet having fled, the Rebels ceased evacuating for a moment. They know the loyalist Imperials would be back, but they had time to withdraw more orderly. They also had time to discuss with Zarin and see what he was up to. The Grand Admiral smiled.

Once landed, a small Rebel escort led him through the base. They quickly brought him to an Admiral's office. The stormtroopers wait outside while Zarin entered. Inside, a man stood.

"I am Grand Admiral Zarin...."

Admiral Umic looked up from his desk when his office doo opened. There stood Admiral Zarin.

Umic extended his hand and spoke.

"Please to meet you Admiral, I am Admiral Redneck, one of the highest in charge at this base. Now what where the issues you wanted to discuss? A treaty wasn't it? Take a seat and lets talk business." Umic said warmly...

OOC: Lets get this over with quickly so we can get to more evil things

Grand Admiral Zarin explained his situation, which was quite complicated. He had conducted a failed coup against the Emperor, then fled to the unknown reigions with his rather extensive forces. He had plans for experimental Imperial starfighters, but needed more capitol ships to provide a threat to the Rebels.

"And so that is why I have come to you, to form an Alliance. Do you accept?"

Admiral Umic was delighted, although he did n ot know this man he seemed like he could be trusted.

"Ok I will except your alliance and we shall work together to destroy the Imperials."

He shook Zarin's hand.

"welcome friend to the Rebellion headquarters. Please make yourself at home."

After the meeting with Admiral Zarin, Umic got a message from one of his Captains.

"Sir, blue squadron has been totally destroyed. It was chaught in some cross fire and well you can guess the consiquences. Two X-wing managed to escape mind you. We believe they where piloted by Sergent David Redneck and Corperal Tan'Zi. One of the ships were badly damaged and it appeares that they have crash landed on a planet not for from here. We hav not been able to get in contact with them though, I think their communication links have been damaged."

Admiral Umic replied thoughtfully,

"We will wait and see what happens. Dismissed."

Zarin inspected the Rebel base. It was a good base, too bad it had to be evacuated. Nevertheless, he had a powerful new ally. A pawn really, it was an Alliance that wouldn't last too long. Neverthless it was an alliance. As Zarin boarded his shuttle to leave the base, he knew his ultimare goal would be accomplished.

He would return to the Unknown reigions and keep in contact with the Rebels. He would plan his next move very carefully. His next series of strike had to be perfect, to give him supplies and some defections. He would have to think very carefuly. Very carefuly indeed.

It would all be planned out, with only one result. Zarin's ultimate victory. He smiled evily. His plan would be perfect.

David had just finished talking to the Admiral of the fleet that wanted to form an allience when his squadron got caught in cross fire. Most of the fleet got destroyed instantly.

"Tan stick close I will get us out of here," he shouted into his commlink.

He had just manuvered throught the rubble when Tan's desperate cry came over his commlink.

"David I'm hit, get me out of here."

"Ok hang on."

He desperately tried to keep her X-wing covered but she had lost control of it. The X-wing wavered from left to right and he could see Tan battling with the control stick.

Her voice came over the commlink again.

"Dave I can't hold her, I will need to make an emergancy landing."

"Hold on I am working on it," he said through clenched teeth.

Just a couple more TEIs to get before we have a clear run, he though as he destroyed the last TEI that was stopping their escape route. When they got out into free space he looked around and saw that Tan's X-wing was smocking badly and a fire was starting on its left wing.

He brought up his screen and searched for a place to land then X-wings. He noticed that they would not make it back to the base, it was to far way and it was to dangeruos to venture back into that war zone.

"David please hurry I don't think I can hold it for much longer," came Tan's desperate vioce again. Just after she finished her left engine exploded.

"Dave," she screemed into her commlink, and then it went blank.

"Tan?" David called into her commlink but there was no reply

"Damn," he said as he noticed her X-wing starting to nose dive.

He noticed her stear the X-wing towards the a nearby planet and then her X-wing nose dived into the planet. David followed close behind, he would not leave her out there on her own.

There was a small explosion when it hit the ground. David hovered overhead looking for a place to land, he found a small clearing not far from where Tan's X-wing now sat smoking and smashed. He landed his X-wing in the clearing and jumped out. He ran over to the destroyed X-wing.

"Tan?" he called desperately, "Tan?"

He found her thrown several metres from the X-wing, she was unconsious and bleeding from many places. He ran over and knelt beside her. He took of his helmet and placed it next to him. Trearing of some of his uniform, he placed it on her most sever wound. It was a deep gash running from her hip to her upper leg. He gently tied the strip of clothing around her leg. Carefully he reached over and pulled her hemlet off. Tan mouned and then was silent again.

After fixing up her wounds up the best he could he got up and moved off to look for a sheltered place to stay...

David was holding Tan in his arms when she started to come round. It was fairly cold in the cave he'd found. He figured they were the last standing as nothing could be heard of the once battlefield nearby. It was only a matter of time before a rescue team would arrive.

"Thankyou for saving me, you were incredible" Tan whispered softly looking deep into David's eyes - Trying to ignore the pain in her leg.

"It was nothing - don't worry we'll get you out of here soon."....

I thought the story could use a sturdy, calm charachter!

Elian Istari sat, relaxed in the pilot seat of his ship. He was a large man with broad shoulders, blond hair and intense glowing blue eyes, a man of few words. Most people took him to be not very bright; but there was an observant intelligence in his glowing eyes, a side that most people never saw.

He gazed slowly around the cockpit, taking everything in. His thoughts, as always, moving much faster than his actions. His eyes took in his few meagre possessions, his rations and his lightsaber; his most prized possession.

Elians great, great grandfather had been a Jedi; his lightsaber had been passed down from generation to generation. And now Elian was the last of the Istari line. Luke Skywalker had sought him out as a possible student for his fledgling Jedi Academy. But after several lessons Luke had small aspirations for his future Force development, and so the lessons had ceased.

All this had been fine with Elian, he took most things in his stride, but he had never wanted that path. This was one of the reasons, Luke had said, that he could not yet master or utilise the Force. But while he was satisfied with his relatively simple life, his could not deny his heritage...

He closed his eyes momentarily, as Luke had shown him, an action that was relatively foreign to him as he never blinked, and tried to stretch out with the force. His attempt didnt get very far before his sphere of influence collapsed, as it always did.

He stretched and was walking back into the cabin, ducking to avoid hitting his head on the doorframe, when a light lit up on his control panel. He turned at the beeping sound, his eyes playing over the cockpit and finding rest upon the 'incoming transmissions' light, beeping incessantly. He sat back down, playing the message back. It appeared to be a distress calll from a nearby planet...

Zarin looked through the latest reports. TIE advanced and advanced gunboat research was going well, with the first fighters soon to be ready. However, the TIE defender, his true miracle weapon, was looking quite expensive. Mass producing them would require resources he just didn't have. He needed to acquire resources...but how?

Raids would work nicely for some time, but how much could they really accomplish? They could give him supplies, but not the resources and manpower he needed. He only had six Imperial class star destroyers and four victory classes. How much could he really accomplish with them? How to get more with just them?

He was a Grand Admiral! He would figure out something. He would come up with a flawless plan. He had to exploit everything to it's fullest. He needed men, resources, supplies, ships and shipyards. How would he get them all? As he thought, he knew he needed to contact the Rebels and see what they thought.

"Get me on with Admiral Umic ensign."

OOC:

WHO wrote that? I ceretaly didn't. :x:x:evil::evil::?:

OOC: who wrote what? what? i'm lost... anyways. boba fett, plz remember to write 'OOC' for 'out of character' when you are, well, out of character, funnily enough, and 'IC' for in character. got it? brilliant. just makes posts easier to follow...

IC: Tan winced as David bound her wounds, hen ried to smile and look brave so he wouldn't know how much pain she was in.

"I'm fine, really." she lied. "It'll heal, don't worry. I am hungry though..." she said with a grin.

David smiled back and set off in search of some food. The planet seemed habitable enough, and no doubt there were natives of some kind that they would need to be wary of, but for the moment everything seemed to be fine.

David came back with a collection of fruits and berries that he thought looked edible enough, and he insisted on eating first just in case there were any serious reactions to it. When a few minutes later he appeared fine and Tan was too hungry to wait any longer, she ate as well and they spent a few hours talking about ow they think the battle went, what became of the rest of the squadron and how they were going to get back.

When the red sun slipped behind the horizon and the forest world became dark, they tried to make a fire with some strange looking purple branches they'd gathered. Neither of them had much idea, and not so much as a spark was forthcoming. Nonetheless, they spent a warm night together in the cave, talking and laughing late in to the night.

Tan thought she had never been happier. She didn't care if they never made it back to the rebellion; lying in Davids arms on the cool grass, looking up at the billions of stars that were all distant worlds that one day she would explore, with David by her side...

OOC: lolololololololol!!! loverly mush, wouldn't you say dear Jess?!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The Victory class star destroyer Triumph came out of hyperspace in the Ord Trasii system. It had been Zarin's grand prize during his first raids. Now, it was to carry out the most important mission of his first campaign. His other missions were regular raids, but the goal of this mission was to steal two ISDs from the heavily defended shipyards. The plan was complicated, but it would work.

The Triumph was badly scared. It went into the shipyards, requesting repairs and stating it had been damaged by a Rebel raid. The ship was taken in and Imperial personel boarded and began inspecting the damage. Meanwhile, the rest of the plan was set in motion.

Not far from Ord Trasii, Zarin's other VSDs, four in total, began conducting a raid on a routine Imperial convoy. It worked perfectly, drawing off some Imperial forces from Ord Trasii.

The Iron Grasp, along with two other ISDs and numerous support ships, came out of hyperspace in Ord Trasii. Zarin immediatly sent a transmission to the planet.

"The is Grand Admiral Zarin, surrender the shipyards to my forces or die."

The response, of course, was negative. Immediatly, the planet's defense forces began moving towards Zarin's small fleet. That was when the final part of the plan begun.

Stormtroopers aboard the Triumph quickly moved to arrest all of the Imperial personel aboard the ship. At the same time, shuttles launched from the VSD and moved to take over two nearby nearly complete ISDs. In the chaos, it was not noticed until it was too late. Three more ISDs, also with support ships, arrived to escort the Triumph and the newly captured ISDs.

Zarin smiled. The plan had worked to perfection. His original group of three ISDs and support ships immediatly withdrew. The other group, along with the Triumph and newly captured ISDs, quickly followed him. The loyalist Imperials were surprised and defeated. They could not react to each new threat in time. Two large Imperial Star Destryoers joined his ever growing fleet.

The forest was lovely, there where tall trees and small shrubs covered in berries. Birds chirped happily and small animals scampered across the forest floor in front of him. David stopped to add some more berries to his growing arm full of delicious looking fruit. He had enough now, so he started to make his way to where Tan lay trying to get some much needed sleep.

She had not slept well last night, she groaned in pain very regularly and David knew, even if she said she was not in pain, that she was. He lay awake for most of the night listening to her breathing, most of the time it was short and rasping but when she did sleep it became steady but painful. She lay in his arms to keep warm because they did not have a fire or any shelter, thankfully it did not rain. David had gotten up early that morning, trying not to wake Tan from her much deserved sleep, and made his way into the forest to look for some breakfast.

When he got back to where Tan lay he found her awake and looking intently at him.

"I found us some breakfast gorgeous," he whispered, gently placing the fruit on the floor next to her. She ate the fruit hungrily.

"I need to find a place for us to stay because we can't stay out here in the open. Do you think you will be alright here by yourself?" he asked crouched next to her. She nodded while placing more fruit in her mouth.

He kissed her on the forehead and stood up.

"I will be back soon," he said walking away into the forest.

Two hours later he returned to find Tan fast asleep where he had left her. He walked over to his landed X-wing and grabbed a bag out from behind the seat and chucked it onto the floor next to the plane. Then after locking the cockpit he jumped down and walked over to Tan. He took his jacket off and put it on the floor next to her. He gently moved her onto it and before picking her up he slug the bag over his broad shoulders, and then bending over he gently picked her up. She groaned but did not wake up. He carried her for some time before he came to a small cliff. There was a small hole in the cliff that opened up into a large cave. He carried he through the small hole and placed her on a bed of soft leaves that he had already made for her. The cave was warm due to a small fire in the corner, and there was a large bed of soft leaves near it, this was the bed he had placed her on.

He had just made her comfortable when she woke up…

Admiral Krevin smiled, and he laughed to himself as a one TIE after another fell under the guns of his starfighter. Granted, it was only a simulation, but it still helped him relieve the stress that had been building up in the past few weeks. That, and his TIE pilots needed some training. And even though Krevin hadnt been in the cockpit of a starfighter for years, he obviously still had the skill to take on the pilots that the empire was giving him. As the last TIE opposing him fell to his laser fire, the simulation ended, and Krevin sighed. Somethings just didnt last long enough.

Krevin climbed out of the simulator, and saw his commanding officer waitng patiently for him. he sighed, and walked over to him. he hoped it was good news, but he knew that wasnt likely to be the case. Nothing short of the location of a major rebel base would be good news at this point in time. After that fiasco at the rebel headquarters, he had been forced to deal with the wrath of the high cammand back on coruscant, and the petty bickering of other admirals. He was growing tired of it. As he appraoched his officer, he spoke in a low growl. "Thais had better be good news, commander" he said, and his commander smiled.

"Better than good news, Admiral. Great news. All vessels have finally repaired all damage from our last battle, and we have received re-placement fighters to cover our losses. Also, that shipment of special fighters you ordered from the rim has also arrived, and our pilots have begun training in them." he commander said, and Krevin slowly smiled. This was indeed good news. Soon, he would be able to go on the hunt once again for the rebels. And perhaps, he owuld be able to bring that fool Zarin to the emperor as a gift.

"What of our intelligence on teh rebel bases in the sector? Any new movements?" The admiral asked, and the commander shook his head, and handed the admiral a data pad. The admiral looked at it, and skimmed over the text slowly. he read report after report on the local rebel cells, and the local rebel bases. Finally, he came to one that piqued his interest. It woul be perfect for a test run of his new starfighters. That, and it would allow for his fleet to relieve some built up aggression.

"Contact the rest of the fleet, and tell them to set course for Tra'ka VII. We will eliminate the rebel base there, and then move on to another base. We will continue this, until the rebels are either foced to make a stand, or are run out of the sector. And contact task force Shadow. Tell them the same thing. We will not be caught off gaurd this time, commander. Not at all." Krevin said, and he then walked off to his quarters briskly. He needed to prepare for his new campaign against the rebels, one that would hopefully redeem him for his recent failures. But with his new starfighters, and his special task force tagging along, he had a feeling that victory was going to be quite simple. Even if Zarin jumped his fleet again, he would be ready.

When Tan woke up she was momentarily disoriented. Where was she? It certainly wasn't the same place she'd fallen asleep.

Lifting her head she took in her surroundings - a small cave, a fire twinkling in the corner and something soft that she was lying on. She could also see David sitting next to her, smiling gently and stroking her hair.

Struggling to sit up, she asked him where they were and he explained that he's found a cave and thought it would offer better shelter than just sitting in the open. He also told her that before they'd crashed on this planet he'd managed to get out a distress call and that he was sure someone would find them soon...

The Iron Grasp floated in orbit around the small planet which housed a Rebel base. It was of no great importance, but after his latest raids, Zarin ahd decided to go on a little tour of Rebel bases. He needed to get to know his new ally. The base was well built, but it wasn't very large or important. Just another base.

Suddenly, a large Imperial fleet jumped out of hyperspace.

"Evasive manuvers! Put our shields up and prepare to defend ourselves! Get us out of here ASAP!"

The large ship moved as quickly as it could to escape, but the loaylist Imperials were quicker. Two squadrons of TIEs, a TIE bomber squad and some experimental fighters moved to delay him. If he left them alone, they'd cause severe damage, but if he attacked them...the Imperials could catch up.

Meanwhile, Rebel forces were launching, but overwhelming swarms of TIEs were moved to destroy them. Zarin grimaced. Reluctantly he spoke:

"Fire to scatter those TIEs, then launch Crimson squadron. Tell them to cover us, then join us at Gamma base."

He knew Crimson squadron would do the job, but he was reluctant to risk them. They were his best, his best pilots and extremly expensive fighter craft. The blast of fire from the huge ship scattered the loyalist TIEs. Then Crimson squadron launched.

They had one mission: Disable the threat from the TIE bombers. Quite simple for a squadron as good as Crimson. They used their speed and manuverability to evade enemy fire and launch accurate concussion missles. The experimental loyalist TIEs provided problems, but the TIE defender's shields protected them. As the ISD sucessfully escaped, Crimson squadron quickly followed. One moment more of a dogfighting and they would have been destroyed and overwhelmed.

OOC - Oh, come on now, you didnt even leave me a chance to bring in my special forces? And just for future reference, Im using the same fleet i used to attack the rebel headquarters with.

IC - Admiral Krevin chuckled to himself as he watched the rebel forces laung fighters to defend themselves. He had never guessed that his first target would prove fruitfull and give him a chance to redeem himself. But his happiness at this fact quickly faded as he saw the rebel vessels manuvering for a exit vector. He sighed, and looked to his tactical diplay. he wouldnt be able to manuver fast enough to prevent them from escaping, and his other task force wouldnt be able to arrive in time to help either.

"Order all vessels to move forward at flank speed, and target any ships that come into range. Order the TIE bombers to hit that ISD, send the 31st fighter group to accompany them. Launch the experimentals, and tell them to target the enemy starfighters." Krevin ordered, and he leaned back in his command chair. He watched as the battle unfolded, and the rebels retreated. he kept his eye on the experimentals, to see how they preformed. By the looks of it, they preformed admirably. They dealt with the rebel x-wings and y-wings with ease, as well as the imperial starfighters. Krevin nodded slowly. Those fighters were worth the price he had paid for them. He continued to watch teh battle unfold until all the rebel vessels had made the jump into hyperspace.

"Call in all starfighters, and move us into orbit. Begin a bombardment of the rebel base, and dont stp until it is a complete waste. I dont want them to be able to use it again." he ordered, and then he picked up a small datapad. On it was a list of other known rebel bases, and a few possible ones. He had to decide soon as to which target was next on his list. he brought up a small screen on his command chair, and referenced which rebel bases were in teh direction the rebel fleet ran to. There were no known bases, but one possible one. Krevin decided it was worth a look, at the very least.

"As soon as the bombardment is finished, set course for Adokila. If there is a base there, i want it found, and dealt with." he ordered, and his commander nodded briskly. Krevin then stood, and began to walk to his quarters. This was going to be a very long campign, especially if the rebels just retreated everytime he arrived. He would have to do something about that, and very soon.

I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
