Try gmax (http://www.discreet.com) with the tempest plugin. That exports to Quake3's md3 format. Then you could convert that either with LithUnwrap, Milkshape, or 3D Exploration to 3ds and with the conv3ds tool finally into .x . -I would've have loved to see any good tutorial on how to create ship models, but haven't seen them so far. Some tutorials based on characters, with varying levels of what you need to know in advance, can be found in the Quake3 modelling sections of http://www.planetquake.com. -XWA to Rebellion ? Sure. Go to Darksaber's OPT station (http://www.darksaber.freeserve.co.uk/) and download the opt23ds tool. Then you have to resize the XWA model to fit into Rebellion's tactical screen. But most of all : be sure to have the author's permission, if you want to give the model to others If you think about JM's models don't bother.
