poly limitations?

I think it was something like 2k. Mask should know the exact numbers. But 2k is REALLY hard to handle for the engine; or at least the performance problems with Mask's Home One model suggest that.

Umm 2k is the limit for the models being used in the TC, the Home 1s 50k iirc. I dont think theres an actual limit on what the engine can handle, though it does seem pretty basic.

The Home one has even 55,000 polys.

I found a replacement, but the final touches might be delayed because of my oncoming exams :(

But as far as I've experimented with larger groups: if you stay below 10,000

polys then it should work fine with most pcs. Depending on what machine you have 20,000 might work as well. Although I'd start deleting little extras from a model with that many polys before trying it in the game. With the textures we can make up for many little details now :D

Oh.

I thought 'The Rebellion Engine can't be THAT crappy. Ugh, look at that Corellian Gunship. Erm, Gunstick. OK, it is THAT crappy. But maybe not that slow.' :)

Indeed, we might end up releasing a high poly version for good pcs, that would be cool, but also a low poly model for less powerful pcs or people who like to have huge amounts of ships.

Elvismiggell. Strike me down and i will become more powerful than you can ever imagine...
