-40 .. soon ... soon ... 8O soon I'll have to think of something to do when I reach the 3k barrier

There are also these little stars inside the ring, don't forget that.

But I think several (~12) evenly spaced dots would do as well

Yeah, I'd do the stars and all though it wouldn't fit on the texture map :P

Oh well, a few more quick updates:

Hehe, I really couldn't be bothered duplicating the other wing for this render, so it's mising

For some reason the shot wouldn't get a thumbnail :?
It's a side shot, with the new crest

Ok... n00b question here... what program did you use for that. Ive done some eye stuff in AutoCAD, like lightsabers and blasters (FUN), and i could easily do something like that in AutoCAD, but i have a sinking feeling that its in another program...

I personally use 3D Studio Max, though there are a number of other 3d modelling programs out there, Lightwave, Maya, Bryce . . .
Heck, if you really want there's a 2 meg 3d modelling program called Wings 3d. My brother's using it for making game models - it's actually good, and it has one of the easiest UVW mappers ever! I'm tempted to use it for mapping :P

Hmm, I'll have to ask him where he got it - I'm pretty sure it's free.

Great! I've just downloaded it, and started the tutorials. Finally, I know what "face" means

Thanks, hopefully I'll finish the texturing soon and I'll be able to try it in the game.

Well, it's been a long . . . ok, VERY long time coming (just look when this thread was started  ). Though after pushing through RL, uni and helping out with Reloaded I've finished texturing the Majestic :!:

Yes, every couple o' weeks I'd do a little more and this morning I finally figured enough was enough and finished it. Now, with the textures done I just have to look over it to see if it's all satisfactory then attempt to get them working Rebellion . . . which will undoubtably be a few more weeks . . . ah, months . . . years? :P

Well, exams are FINALLY over and I've been slowly working on my model . . . and with a help from Mask (as epr usual  ) I've got a working beta model. Now I just need to test it out a bit to see if it crashes anything etc. and to create a card for it :P

Image
Test one . . . I've got a little problem with one wing being back to front . . . dang

Image
Ok, one problem down - now I need to work on scale :P

Image
The latest and greatest of the three that's now going through some trials

Known problems:
Well, the first few tries were through saved games. And I ran into a problem that appears to be the same with any imported model and loading a saved game - the bloody ships wont move :?
New games have no problem . . . and I'm checking into what's the problem though it seems to be a generic problem.

Just curious, but when will this thing be ready to download? Of all the models in development right now, I think this one is my favorite =)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing this model in game

Well, I'm working on donig two things with the model before I link it anywhere - first is put it in a RMD file, to make it easier to extract and the other is to secure somewhere to upload it. I've got some webspace, so I'll try uploading it there.

If you can't wait Toguro, PM me with you email address and I'll send you the model

works fine. A bit smaller than I expected (about half the size of an ISD), but no bugs and the ship fires wonderfully. I replaced the bulward with this new one and the firing animation is just great. Two parallel lasers fire right from the nose, making it look really cool. Great job, Krytos
