All the better for Sins of a Galactic Empire,

 

- new factions, check

- super-capital "Titan" ships, check

- new capitals and corvettes, check

- Loyalist and Rebel activities, check

- new capital abilities, check

- new lightning and particle effects, check

 

Pretty much anything that a Star Wars mod can ask for. Beautiful

 

The naming is going to get confusing though haha

ah i see should of followed the link b4 ... doh

 

well the one main thing I hope this fixes is the memory allowance, remove the 2gb limit and let us play uninterupted with no lag. That is my only hope really, possibly more fighter types also, as I've always wanted a tie defender in this mod. this means we could also make more splinter groups and/or smaller forces in the game ie naboo defence force, haarpani, chiss empire, and other sw races.

It won't. It's still the same engine. There might be a few things done to streamline it but they would have to rewrite the code from scratch most likely to make it a true 64bit multi-threaded exe. Until they say otherwise.

I'm still going to worry about the 2gb limit for this. If we move the mod to it we might have to go through and remove the things we don't need.

I'm thinking the reverse might occur, that it SoGE would be even more stable, as there are more factions and, as such, there are more factions by default. Though it goes without saying that a bunch of things will be removed. Imho the beta should be finished, or at least completed to the point of a public release, before moving/converting over to the new expansion.

Rather than having Galactic Empire warlords, why not make them the Imperial Remnant? I'd love me some Pellaeon-class star destroyers. Or, you could have a Sith Empire mixing Legacy and Golden-era ships to make a faction.

As noted before, there are no plans to introduce new factions into SoGE; Rebellion's faction "mechanic" is just having more selectable races/players.

The Sith Empire would be a bad addition; the Interdictor, their strongest ship, wouldn't even be able to take a Dreadnaught one on one. They'd be absolutely dominated by every other faction.

You could have , Mandelorians / Old Republic or Old Republic / Post Hyperspace war Sith Empire http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Armada, the Sith tended to reuse old Vessels, so the Post Hyperspace Empire had ships from the Exar Kun era, to up to date star destroyers.

Still not worth it. Personally I'm unwilling to put time and effort into that era, particularly when the current six factions are not near completion.
