Question

Hi as I keep finding my old games bugging out on Windows 7 I am debating on a VirtualBox to use. could anyone tell me step by step in a way my grandma could understand how to set it up system and game without blowing up windows 7. It would be nice if I could have the system part via iso too as I am unsure if I have the XP disc and the man I have to ask if we have it has a fear of viruses and pc blow up with such magic.

There's a wiki for that... or a pdf if you prefer.

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch01.html#intro-installing

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02.html#installation_windows

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/4.2.16/UserManual.pdf

You can mount a windows .iso to a virtual dvd for the installation, no physical disk needed. All explained above.
