It's been many years since I played Rebellion but would love to play again, so where do I begin on getting the game downloaded?

Unfortunately I don't know any site offering it for legal download. Thus the news page pointing to the GOG request.
Best chance is a used game sold via Ebay.

I hope GOG will make it available.

For now, I see some copies on Amazon. Remember you can also look for Star Wars: Supremacy. Its the same game (just renamed in Europe). There are also several copies on Ebay.

I just found the Prima strategy guide- didn't even know there was a Prima guide for Rebellion! I wonder if it explains any of the mechanics I've been guessing over for years... <adds to cart>

Prima's strategy guide was my core reference after the Rebellion manual. If you've played long enough, it doesn't really teach you that much that you can't figure out. But it's a great starting point.

I lost the original manual. Well... I think my mother threw it out when I was a teenager. But I have no proof of that, so... yeah.

Are you saying the Prima guide has no useful information about game mechanics? By useful, I mean not discernible by observation or RebEd. Cause if so, then I just wasted $4. Aw well.

It has all the stats. But you can discern them through RebEd too

Well, someday, probably a decade or more from now, when I'm teaching my kids how to play Rebellion, I will give them the guide. I may even let them see the strategy guide I wrote.

After I mercilessly crush them a time or two. Or three.

It's still a nice collectible to have, at least in my mind.

If it's permitted I'll be happy to toss an ISO of the disc up on a public bit tracker and post it here. I can't see the stromtroopers pursuing me for sharing it at this point.

We're not going to condone it - but if it doesn't use our resources, go for it.

Now I know that there was a CD left laying around here somewhere...
