I know you've probabally been asked this thousands of times but....I've just downloaded RebED, Resource Hacker, the Eclipse & Soverign SSD & Golan 3 files and want to put the later 3 into the game as usable units, but I have no clue how. Can anybody help?

Make sure you download The_Mask's tutorial on changing models. Give it a read and it will help. Don't get lost for now in the portion about converting .3ds models to Direct X - just skip on down to the part about uploading the completed .x files into your tactical.dll folder.

Also, in the Rebed-Model Editing forum, look for the topic "How is the model editting (sic) done and carried into Rebellion." Look for Mask's post a few messages down. It is helpful too.

You might want to create a copy of your tactical.dll before you get started just for safety's sake, but if you follow the instructions in the tutorial you shouldn't have any problem.

And something important I found out the hard way:

Don't leave Resource Hacker open with the tactical.dll, while you launch RebEd :!: If you close either of them then, your tactical.dll might be screwed beyond repair. If that happens, you gotta get a fresh one, either from the backup (that you hopefully made), or from the Rebellion folder on your CD.

Have fun :D
