Three figures approached Karn and the others at the table. As the figures grew nearer, he noticed they all had the same face! Of Ulic Horn. Maybe just one more glass of Corellian Whiskey, and then I'll give it a rest . . . maybe

"Ulic, welcome back - long time no see!"

OOC: Welcome back Ulic, long time no see

Ulic took a quick swig and sat down. "This party sure is quiet. Who died?" This most likely wasn't the first place Ulic had been drinking tonight. "How's everybody doing?" he asked taking another swig.

OCC: Good to be back, Krytos, btw I'm starting another thread Clone Wars era, thought you might be interested.

"It's not my fault!"

"Oh yeah? What's in it for me?"

"Doing? Pretty good. We were just talking about . . . umm, actually I can't remember." Karn said over the top of his glass with a confussed face.

OOC: Hmm, sounds good. I can be a ground pounding grunt following orders into the fray :)

OCC: Cool join the thread then, I need a jedi and more squadmates and the like. Hope to see someone of you guys there.

Tython suddenly noticed that he was staring into his empty cup and he probably had been for some time. He glanced at Karn who seemed to be in conversation with a person that tython could not remember if he had seen before.

When Karn mentioned that the mans name was UlicHorn Tython looked at him and said "So what line of business you in Mr Ulic".

OOC: By the way Ulic can I join that new thread as well? what ever you want me to be it dousent matter as long as im not a girl.

"Well I'm a Smug- I'm a pilot." he said. "But right now I'm also working for the Rebellion and since my ship's in need of repairs I decided to stop by for a nice drink. Yourself?"

OOC: Sure! Feel free to jump in, we can always use more clones or other Republic military figures and heck maybe even someone still on Tatooine, and if you wanna play a couple of characters feel free. We look forward to you joining.

"Sort of the same thing" Tython replied. "I'm a pilot in the Vathinor air force. I came along here to see my friend T'char. He's a bounty hunter around here. But I think I've been here about 3 days now and I have gotten totally ruined a grand total of 6 times." . "So do you intend on staying long." Tython said as he glanced longingly at his cup.

T'char woozily lifted his head from the bar surface, gazing around grimy pub's interior. Things weren't entirely clear to him, it seemed he'd been out of it for quite a while.

"Hmmm. Wha?" he finally managed to gasp.

"I thank you, my friend, for it is in your death that the Scorekeeper finds my true worth."

OOC: Long time no see Tchar :D

IC: (Karn)

Staring across the table, Karn glanced at the body slumped over the table as it began to move again.

With a sly grin only a Corellian could pull off, Karn spoke over the table. "Morning T'Char . . . how's the head?"

OOC - Good to be back! :D BTW, Ulic (if you're still out there...), mind if i join the fray (ie: the Clone Wars thread)?

IC - Someone was calling his name.

"T'char, buddy. Over here."

T'char turned to look at the speaker, his head reeling from the sudden movement. Just down the bar sat a familiar face, looking intently in his direction.

"Hey Karn" he groaned. "How long was I gone for?"

"I thank you, my friend, for it is in your death that the Scorekeeper finds my true worth."

OOC: Ah, I missed your last post T'Char! Sorry about that

IC:

Karn smirked at the question, "Out? Well, lets see . . . it was roughly an hour, or two or possibly three. Well, you get the point."

Stretching his arms, Karn stood up from the table. "Well, I'm not sure about you - though I need a fresh drink."

Karn quikly left for the bar to order another drink for himself and the others still "awake" at the table. Mere moments later the bar tender handed Karn a tray with the drinks and Karn headed back.

"Here you go, and for T'Char - a little pick me up. So, considering these drinks have killed half my brain cells let alone my memory, what were we talking about?"

"Ummmmm. I remember something about deathstars, SSDs and what the new republic should do about the remnant. Other than that, i don't really remember much either..."

T'char gazed around the bar again. He could see several familiar faces,, but they were all completely out of it, apparently dozing off the effects. The result was that the bar almost looked like a mass murder scene. T'char shook that though from his head, instantly regretting it in a haze of wooze.

"Maybe we could talk about something else" he suggested, stating the obvious. "Whaddya reckon?"

"I thank you, my friend, for it is in your death that the Scorekeeper finds my true worth."

Karn squinted as he attempted to penetrate the barrier of alcohol that was covering his hort term memories, though after several painful minutes he gave up the fruitless struggle.

"Ah, I'm drawing a blank mate . . . so, what do you want to talk about? Politics and military are done - so what's left?"

The conversation slowly began to seap through the hazz that was cushioning Tythons many minds from the outside world. Tython slowly waded towards the light and consiousnes. and suddenly, painfully he was there taking in all the sound and light of life and it hurt like hell. He slowly sat up and groaned as he looked around for some way to take his mind of the pain.

Tython saw T'char and Karn over at the bar and so he slowly stood and stumbled over to try and give his minds something to focus on. When he finallly arrived after several long and painful minutes involviong many collisions and appologies.

The first thing Tython said as he sat was "Please tell me this hangover will go away. I need some positive thoughts and hopefully something to talk about."

Tython suddenly had a random thought and said "Karn would you happen to know what sort of training the clone troopers go through in the area of combat. I mean are they on a level with the Echani or do they only specialise in weapons." as he slumped into a more cumfortable position against the bar.

Karn heard the words, though his intoxicated mind conjured up a strange holodrama. Clones!!! Attack of the clones!!!

Shacking his head, is vision blurred though is mind cleared.

"Ah . . . wait, wait. Hold on . . . yeah, clones . . . the clone war. Right oh, I'm with it now.

"Umm, from what I've heard down the 'net - and from what the Empire has gotten rid of - I'm pretty sure they were clean slate clones. So any training was what ever the Empire gave them.

"And from the way that war went, I doubt there was much above basic training. The few holos I've seen of their battles makes me think that the clones were only marginally better than the droids - they could hit better, and dodge quicker!

"Still, they had their commando units, and something called ARE . . . ARS . . . ARC? I don't know, something like that. Which implies they could train them with a high degree of skill.

"Oh yeah, the question . . . I'd say they only specialised in weaponary - if that."

Knocking back another shot, Karn cleared his throat and continued.

"Oh yeah, that hang over will last about a year."

OOC - Damn Tython can sober up fast! I mean, he seems pretty lucid for someone who just took several minutes to stumble across the canteena. I wish I could make so much sense when I was drunk! :D

IC - T'Char raised his head from the bar at the mention of the clone wars. There was something he could talk about. Turning his head slowly to avoid any nasty spinning effects, he faced Tython and Karn.

"The clones were all originally cloned from material taken from Jango Fett - Boba Fett's father. The way I understood it was that the idea was that the clones would inherit Jango's superior reflexes and instincts - like Boba did - and therefore need very little in the way of training. By the way, what's the Echani?"

Slowly he let his head rest back on the bar, his little speech over.

OOC: Hey, it's sci-fi, the "new" alcohol: it's effects last only momentarily

IC:

Karn's eye's.

"Wow, Boba Fett . . . "the" Boba Fett had a dad!?! I thought that guy was made out of the remenants of an Imperial Star Destroyer, and you're trying to tell me he's a mere man and he had a father?!?"

Scratching his 5 o'clock shadow, Karn continued his intoxicated rant, "Well, some things never cease to amaze. So what's the Echidna thing you guys are talking about?"

OOC - Nothing like getting drunk at the local canteena on Anzac day...

IC - "Hmmmm. Apparently he did have a father. One of the Journeymen I believe. What that is, I dunno, but there you go."

T'Char gulped down a mouthful of whatever liquid it was that was sitting before him.

"But is that really that amazing? I mean, Luke Skywalker had a father, even if he was evil incarnate... And what the hell's an Echidna?" ( )

"I thank you, my friend, for it is in your death that the Scorekeeper finds my true worth."

OOC: Yeah, for the last few posts I've been in the same mood GL was in when he put lines like: "Why do I have the feeling you'll be the death of me Anakin" into Episode II

IC: Bewildered by his own responce, Karn attempted to answer the question.

"Echidna? It's this little, ball creature thingy, with spikes and . . .ah with . . . anyway, what was it that you said then?"

Tython slowly shook his head so as to not get too dissy while stilll showing his surprise at his drinking friends lack of Marsial arts history.

Tython interupted there drunkan ranting by saying. "The Echani are a race of people who are taught Echani fighting style from almost as soon as they can walk. They are normally considerd the best hand to hand fighters in the known universe or so I believe. They can normally kill a person more quickly with there hand than most people can with a gun." Tython explained as he watched his friends.

OOC: most of this is from KOTOR: Sith Lords.

Kill a person quicker with their bare hands than most can with a gun? T'Char liked the sound of that. Yet, for some reason he was mildly sceptical...

"Maybe, my friend. But I am yet to meet an adversary who has even so much as raised a hand in their defence before being dispatched by my pistols. Such a person would be quite a challenge to work against, yet I find the possibility of such skill highly improbable."

"I thank you, my friend, for it is in your death that the Scorekeeper finds my true worth."

Listening to the conversation of hand to hand combat, Karn decided to throw in his two credits.

"Well, hand to hand combat is a necisity - even with the many advancements made in armour and weaponary. Even an E-11 with a fully charged cell will run out of ammo after around 250 blasts.

"If you were to be jumped while reloading - you'd be in a lot of trouble."

Karn took a long, refreshing drink of the bottle of water that now replaced the usual Corellian alcohol.

"Now, that ain't the half of it. Blasters and the sort have their limitations when it comes to point blank fighting. A good fighter, like one of these Echi guys, would close ranks fast enough to deflect the blaster itself and ruining your shot and at the same time giving him or her ample time to . . . well kill you.

"That's why I always carry a good 'ol vibroblade with me as well - not to mention I've been known for my martial abilities."

Karn was almost surprised by the dry faces he got after saying his last remark.

"No, really - I am . . . just, not when I've been drinking . . . "
