Seryk watched coldy as the bombardment from the retreating mandalorian cruiser halted. It was a good plan, but unfortunate that the enemy had forseen such a tactic. If thay had not, it would have devastated their lines to the point that they would have been forced to retreat. Seryk turned back to the sensors, and watched as for starfighters entered the engagement far above them. Almost all of them were of imperial design. Seryk tilted his head in wonder, confused as to where they had come from. Then Seryk heard the warning call.

"Prepare for incoming!" his sensor officer yelled, and Seryk looked over at him, just in time to fall over from the force of the blasts. He got back to his feet quickly, and ran over to the sensor units. he then saw what had happened. The reporan artillery had smashed the UDA lines completely. Seryk was no tactician, but even he could tell that they were in real trouble now. An entire flank was open to an easy attack. Seryk wondered how Solo would deal with this new predicament, but before long, Fetts voice came over the comm system.

"Artillery banks one through seven, hit those enemy sheild generators. Then proceed with a general bombardment." he ordered, and Seryk looked over to the main command center. Seryk knew that the enemy sheild generators themselves had enough sheilds to withstand any normal bombardment, so he had no idea as to how they would hit them. But he knew not to question orders. Banks one through four were his command.

"You heard him. Hit them with everything you've got. Lets take them out." he ordered, but his second in command stood up suddenly.

"Belay those orders. Artillery, fire standard TB rockets at them." he ordered, and he then turned to Seryk.

"Sorry sir, but this is what Fett wanted. Im sure you will learn what they are in a moment." he said, and Seryk nodded. He suddenyl wished he had taken the time to learn all of what the mandalorian equipment was capable of. But he had a feeling he was about to find out. He turned just in time to see a series of massive flashes, and a dozen rockets flared away from his batteries. He turned to watch them fly off, an wondered how exactly thay would hit the generators.

*******************************

Avarice watched as Tuvax began to move his troops forward, a cold grin on her face. But as she watched them move, she noticed a series of what appeared to be rockets flying towards her lines from the mandalorian lines. Suddenly remembering what had happened to her fighters not to long ago, a sudden sence of fear washed over her.

"Shoot those missiles down! NOW!" she yelled, and almost instantly dozens of guns opened up. The rockets dodged most of the incoming fire, and suddenly dove to the ground. They hit the ground, but no explosions followed. The interception fire stopped, and Avarice looked out to the rockets, all of which were now sticking out of the ground at verius angles.

"What in the name of the force is going on?" she asked, and she checked her sensors, knowing that this was some sort of trick. But as she did so, she saw the rockets begin to fall over, as if they had never managed to bury themselves into the ground at all. The look on her face changed from one of worry, to one of bewilderment.

Then the exposions came. But not from in front of her, but from behind. She turned, and saw two of the massive sheild generators protecting them vanish in a massive explosion. up and down her lines, several more generators followed suite, and it dawned on her what had happened. The warheads had gone underground to hit their targets. The one direction the sheilds couldnt have protected them from.

"Curse them!!!" she yelled, and then the mandalorian bombardment began anew, ripping into her own artillery. She watched on in horror as her most powerfull weapons were torn apart, their protective shells ripped from them. She turned back to face towards the enemy lines, anger coursing through her. Now she only had one thought on her mind. The complete and total destruction of her enemies. She had no intention of letting them humiliate her here.

*****************************************

Ilos awoke as his transport fell out of hyperspace, and he smiled, seeing that hey had finally arrived at Dresnak. He looked about, and saw that the shipyards were still running at full speed, building new warships, or reparing others. He was not, however, happy to see that his flagship was still in drydock, its repairs still underway. But he could see a few of his other ships were fully reparied, and floating in open space.

"Its good to see her again." Ilos mouttered under his breath, and the transports pilot nodded.

"That it is sir. The Firestorm is a fine warship. She will look a lot better once those holes are patched." the captain said, and Ilos nodded.

"That it will be. But for now, lets just go land in her bays. I have this strange urge to go sit in my command chair again." he said, and the captain nodded, accelorating quickly. ilos had a feeling that the crew also wanted off the cramped vessel. And frankly, he couldnt blame them. It was good to be home.

Avarice felt anger flow across her like a wave as smoke began to slowly rise from the battered UDA lines. The Mandalorians had decieded to eliminate their shields with a weapon she had heard of but never seen deployed. Destructive Electromagnetic Shield Pulse or DESP rockets. Each one focused on the frequency of the shields nearest it and brought them down. Now her forces were exposed to hostile fire, this she could not allow, "Artillery open fire on hostile antistarfighter batteries, launch the second attack wave!"

On her orders another legion of Raporan starfighters rose from their bases and shot toward the battle, their targets, the hostile artillery. As they moved to engage an enormous Aklasp vessel swooped down from space, its grav shielding expanding outward to protect the area just above her headquarters. It's Polaron Beam cannon powered down as it lost nearly all of its range in atmosphere. The Positron cannons however were well withing their capablities as the ship began to systematically remove GFFA starfighters from the sky.

* * *

Lieutenant Melina Thompson scrambled over the barren ground with her blastech held taunt to her shoulder. Behind her Zekk and Lowbacca moved forward in a low crouch. More commandos scrambled across the hellen landscape. Only a few UDA vehicles remained functional and as Melina saw many of the troops that had once guarded the area were now gone, utterly destroyed by the antimatter bursts with less then a scorched piece of ground to left where they stood.

Still there were survivors, some saved by fate or blind luck stood in the field utterly undscaved while others were huddled in trenches with battered and scored equipment.

Melina nodded as she watched the UDA troops try to reform themselves into a defensible position, "This isn't going to be good." Glancing over toward the enemy she could see their walkers and transports plooding toward them, no it wouldn't be good at all.

Tuvax lead his troops through the last line of trees before they arrived in a field. The Raporan troops spread out. In front of them was the imposing Imperial army. The AT-AT Walkers's heads slowly moved like giants inspecting the battlefield before the hostilities began.
Following the Raporan infantry, crushing the trees blocking their way, came the Raporan Armored troops.
Both armies were now ready. On one side was the organised scareless Imperial regiments on the other was the concentration of the Dark side only waiting to unleash.
The hostilities began when two Jedis stepped out of the Imperial ranks and ignitted their lightsabers.
Tuvax roared and charged followed by his troops. On the other side of the plain, the Imperial slowly started marching, the giant AT-AT's begining their slow advance.

OOC:Evahe is at a meeting with the Advisory Council, by the way.

The twisted feeling of pleasure consumed Fury as he launched his attack. The UDA forces were battered, the results would be different this time. The first wave was made up of walkers and droids. Kar Asps would be working in close support with them. The goal was to destroy the UDA vehicles and break any defensive lines.
Once the first assault was reported as being sucessful, Fury and the Raporan troops would move in. With the UDA heavy vehicles destroyed, Fury and his warriors would mop up any resistance. Fury's troops would then either pursue the UDA forces to destruction or move against other forces depending on Avarice's orders.
Fury was lost in thought when he felt a small rush of urgency. He looked around to see a Raporan warrior running towards him. Fury knew what he would say.
"Master, the First Wave has engaged the enemy. The UDA is resisting fiercely, but there is no doubt of inevitable sucess."
The main idea was what Fury had predictated, but he was a bit taken aback. How could the UDA be resisting "fiercely" after such a pounding?
"Very well then. Let us prepare for battle."

OOC: To make our last posts less wrong, this post will start before Mad's post and take it up till Mad's entry in the battle. Mad I'll write a small bit out of your char's POV.

IC: Ground Artillery, Oreton considered had always been the Empire's weak point. Ever since the Clone Wars up to the peace treaty and the Vong campaign the Empire's philosophy in ground battles was to avoid them. Whatever the Star Destroyers in orbit could not annihilate the AT-ATs could stomp. Most of the times that had been enough, and when it hadn't not all the artillery in the galaxy would have done them any good.

That did not mean that Oreton had not brought hs own ground artillery. Long-range energy cannons and hover torpedo launchers floated into the battle field. The cannons sent wide arc energy burst towards the RApora ground armies several kilometers away, which in return fired gigantic plasma weapons that sprayed over the Imperial formations.

But their number was too little to last out long enough. When Oreton had chosen to take his armies into battle he had decided to leave much Artillery behind, as they would slow down the armies he brought here. He had only brought in twenty hover torpedo launchers, because he was either way short on supplies and the energy cannons, which could move considerably faster than the rest of the Imperial heavy artillery.

Fortunately, the number of Raporan artillery was not high either. Oreton had to thank the Mandalorians for their unconventional use of weapons to penetrate through the secure shields, and destroy much of their heavy artillery. Not more than five dozens were operational on the Raporan front, if he could rely on the colored sparks in the distance.

Unfortunately there was a larger enemy in the battlefield. The strange non-Rapora vessel that hovered over the enemy camps. One of the energy cannons had targeted it but no real damage had been done. Oreton believed it was one of the fire-walkers ships, and the overheated energy burst would definitely not harm him.

From the explosions on the sky, Oreton had an educated guess at the range of the vessel, and knew that the Imperial Forces were still out of range. Once they were, Oreton knew that his enemy would make sure he knew.

"The ship is expanding its shields over the RApora headquarters. Our artillery is having no effect in their weaponry," Colonel Klern informed. "We are detecting high temperatures emanating from the ship-"

"Incoming fighters. Rapora design. They launched from behind the spaceship, they are coming on us," Commander Grabel spoke up interrupting Klern's report.

"Call Squadrons Theta and Psi to intercept the fighters. Have the torpedo luancher get locks on the incoming fighters and relay telemetry on the incoming DeltaMissileboats." Oreton ordered.

If the starship protecting the Rapora headquarters did in fact belong to the firewalker, to defeat it OReton would need more than intelligence. He would need all the forces of nature to collaborate with him.

"We are losing energy cannons," Klarn exposed followed by a kill confirmation by GRabel. The Missileboats had taken out some of the fighters, but the damage was already done.

"What's the status of the enemy artillery?" Oreotn asked.

"Impossible to determine, but I would expect that we hit them pretty hard." One of the lieutenant's confirmed. "The GFFA?" Oreton insisted.

"Their anti-air batteries are almost all gone, I have seen some debris of their energy cannons," there was a hesitant pause. "I would have expected much stronger artillery in the GFFA camp."

"Solo is gambler, sometimes he plays a card, sometimes he keeps one, waiting for the right hand." Oreton shrugged. "Have our AT-ATs advance into the battle, send a special group through the forest."

"The Jedi and the special regiments?" Klarn looked at his commander.

"Send them with them. The AT-AT's leg's are very vulnerable."

The exchange of fire between enmy artilleries has been greatly reduced. Imperials and Rapora still sent off a slavo against each other, but each side knew now that the battle would not be decided by shots at such a great distance. As the Imperial army advanced, Oreton expected the Rapora to reassign the artillery, and release their ground units into battle.

The green forest, splattered with black scorch marks seemed oblivious ot the battle. Some few Imperial units, had been sent through them while the bulk just outside of the forest advanced into the central plain. Off in the distance Oreton saw some of the Rapora ground troops, they had crossed through the forest. Their number was as of yet impossible to determine, but the Jedi, his regiments and the insane amounts of walkers of all kinds would soon contront them.

***

The hostilities began when two Jedis stepped out of the Imperial ranks and ignitted their lightsabers.

Tuvax roared and charged followed by his troops. On the other side of the plain, the Imperial slowly started marching, the giant AT-AT's begining their slow advance.

Tuvax stopped, it was only one Jedi with a lightsaber. But there was something else, something bizarre in those Imperial Forces. Even the Rapora warriors around him felt that, and slowed their charge. The hundreds of blackarmored troopers around the Jedi felt strange. They had a raw power, not as finely decanted as the Jedi, not nearly as powerful as the Rapora.

Slightly unsettled but pwered by a relentless anger, Tuvax reassumed his charge.

***

Inside his "command center" Oreton saw the Rapora advancing at the forward AT-AT group. The Rapora knew the vulnerability of the AT-AT, especially such an army as the Rapora could make good use of their spped and weapons to damage the AT-ATs in their weak spots. Their bellies, thier legs. OReton smiled, the knowing smile of a secret holder.

***

The AT-ATs fired on the rapidly advancing Raprora infantry, behind them some Rapora ground vehicles exchanged salvos with the AT-STs.

BEhind them, lead by a single Jedi Master, an elite cadre of troops set foot in the battlefield. For the first time in over three decades, Darktroopers entered the battlefield.

Seryk sat in the chair of the Anti-air cannon, the fire ripping fom the guns at an astounding speed. A reporan starfighter flew right into the stream coming from his guns, and exploded violently. Seryk took a moment to wonder if it was the mandaloriabns skill with their artillery, or the amount of fire being poured into the sky that was keeping their lines from being smashed from above. The lack of starfighters was hearting them greatly, preventing them from using much of their weapons where they were most effective, against enemy troops.

"Alright, everyone get ready. Enemy formations are advancing!" Fett yellled through the comm system, and Seryk loked to see a long line of Reporan walkers and troops emerge from the forests. Seryk wa sastonished that so many walkers had survived all the bombardments that had been rained down upon them. But he knew that he should have expected nothing less. That would have made the battle far to easy.

"All remaining heavy artillery, focus fire on the enemy troop formations. Lets loosen them up a bit." Fett ordered, and Seryk hopped off the AA gun, letting another mandalorian take over for him. He walked to where he would get a better sight of the enmy troops, and was startled when the mandalorian guns opened up on them at full range. Even at that range, accuracy from the Mandalorian guns was astounding. Mulitple shots ripped into the enemy troops scattering them like rag dolls. Other shots seemd to concentrate on the walkers. But the walkers held fast, proving to be exceptionally resiliant to incoming fire. Seryk could tell they would have to use something heavier to deal with them, or concentrate all fire on them.

As he was thinking about it, the reporan walkers returned fire, sending waves of plasma across the battle field into the mandalorain lines. Seryk was thrown as one blast hit the ground near him. He got up, and saw the bodies of several mandalorians scattered about. He got back to his feet, and turned back to the battle. He watched as the Mandalorian guns began concentrating on the walkers, and a pair of enemy walkers vanished in massive explosions. But he knew that all of them would have to fall before this battle was over.

"All guns, concentrate on those walkers by groups! Try to find a weak point on them!" Fett ordered, and Seryk wacthed as all guns now concentrated on the walkers, tryng hard to bring them down. Another walker fell, then another, but only through simple firepower, not by the exploitation of any weakpoint. Seryk cursed silently, they were going to be forced to get into close combat with them one way or the other.

"All forces, get ready to move out. its time to show these REpora what the mandalorains are all about." Fett ordered, and a large cheer rose up from the ranks of the mandalorians. Slowly, the mandalorain hovertanks moved forward, a long line of firepower meant to sheild the ground troops for as long as they could. Behind them lines of mandalorain heavy battel suits lumbered forward, their laser cannons primed. Finally, mixed into all of it, the mandalorian ground troops got into their positions.

Seryk joined his troops at the very front, and raised his confiscated reporan sidearm. But after a moment of thought, threw it to the ground, and retrieved his lightsaber from his belt. He chose not to ignite for now though. That would wait until he wa in the thick of the enemy troops. As one, the mandalorian army began a fast paced march across the battlefield, cover fire from the remaining heavy cannons doing their best to protect them from the Reporan walkers, whcih were still moving forward at a steady pace. Seryk almost wished for a moment that Fett had decided to concentreate the heavy fire on the nemy ground troops. At least then the battle would have been slightly easier. But that was not the way of the mandalorian.

"All forces, move out!" Fett ordered, and the line began to move. The final battle for Ord Mantell had begun.

The Raporan walkers suddenly stopped as the Mandalorians advanced from cover. Darth Avarice smiled at the sight of the thousands of armed troopers, "Let us show them what it means to go to war with the Rapora, contact the Aklasp cruiser, they may fire at will."

With a flash the port batteries of the Aklasp cruiser opened fire into the advancing infantry, shot exploded ripping holes in the battle line, yet the Mandalorians came on, heedless of the firepower arrayed against them. Their infantry kept closing and Avarice knew that it was about to become even more brutal, "Activate the droids, have them make up the first battle line."

From the bottom surfaces of the first line of walkers Droideka'kars dropped to the ground and rolled forward before unfurling into attack position. From supporting vehicles whole legions of these droids rolled out and prepared for combat, their missile launchers loading and plasma cannons charging. But these were not the only war droids the Rapora had brought to the field, two full regiments of Kar Vanel’kar security droids were deployed in a long skirmish line before the Droideka'kar war droids.

The Kar Vanel'kar war droids were the most advanced, complex, and effective battle droid ever created, designed to perfectly mimic the capabilities of a fully trained and disciplined Rapora Warrior, the droids were even feared by Rapora warriors due to their capabilities. They were even equipped with weapons that a mandalorian would envy. A built in flamethrower, posion injectors in the claws, dual emergency blasters in the hands, a plasma rifle, and two lightsabers.

Behind the droids was another battle line, half the size and just as effective, a line of Raporan assault infantry. The Mandalorians had just bitten off more then they could chew and Avarice still had a reserve formation of Rapora Warriors, not to mention the Aklasp.

* * *

Han Solo leaned over the holo projector, "This isn't looking good, the Rapora have hit the Mandalorians and Imperials, only the GFFA still has room to maneuver."

He frowned as he straightened up over the map, "Artillery, you may commence firing on the Raporan forces engaging the Mandalorians, they need our help."

Leia sighed, "What about the UDA? Zekk? Lowbacca?"

"There's nothing I can do right now hone, the Rapora have me boxed in."

Fett smiled as he saw the Repora forces move out in full force. He knew his troops were badly outnumbered, and with that massive warship hanging above the rear lines of the Reporan armies, they were heavily outgunned. Thankfully, Solo must have realised this, as the GFFA artillery began a brutal bombardment of the advacing Reporan lines. Fett watched as entire streatches of Reproan droids and warriors vanished in massive explosions. Fetts' remaining artillery peicies joined in, opening up even more holes into their lines. But Fett saw that it wasnt going to be enough. The Repora still had far to many troops and walkers for his army to deal with by themselves. Thankfully, they werent by themselves.

"Order our forward lines to halt, and then fall back. Hovertanks and heavy battle suits are to cover the ground troops. Artillery, make sure the Repora think twice about following them to quickly." Fett ordered. He watched as slowly, his lines halted, and began a slow march back towards the main lines of the allied forces. The GFFA and Mandalorian artillery continues to pound the Reporan lines, but it seemed as if the Reporan commander fully intended on chasing his troops all the way back to their original lines. Fett smiled, and decided to teach the enemy commander the error of his ways.

"Captain Sovleth, you may commance firing. Hit that line of troops as best you can. Then begin your run." he ordered. Fett looked to the sky, and smiled grimly as the battered hulk of the Wolfsbane, hovering a few kilometers above the enemy flanks, decloaked, and opened fire.

*************************************

Avarice watched carefully as the enemy artillery pounder her advancing line of troops and walkers. But she had already calculated what the enemy forces could do. She already knew that it was to little, to late. Then she saw the mandalorian army halt their forward advance, and begin a slow march backwards. She watched them for a moment, and then smiled. The mandalorains were retreating. She knew enough history to know that the mandalorians had never retreated in any battle. And now she would show the galaxy that not even the might mandalorians could stop them.

"Order our advancing forces to press the attack. Follow them all the way to their rear lines. Once they are under the firing arc of the enemy artillery, their flanks will crumble." she ordered, and she listened as her orders were relayed to her attacking forces. She turned back to her sensors, and watched as closely as her orders were followed. Then in the back of her mind, she could here to voice of the timeless one. Do not fail me... the voice said, and Avarice looked up, wondering why she had heard him say that.

As she looked up, a cry of alarm rang out, and Avarices head shot towards her advancing lines just in time to see a large barrage of turbolaser blasts rip though them. She followed the blasts, and saw the immence hulk of a mandalorain cruiser hovering over her flanks. A cold hand gripped at her throat as she realised what had happened. The enemy commander had tricked her into releasing the bulk of her forces from the protective cover of the Aklasp cruisers' sheilds, and into the open, were they were easy prey for heavy guns of the warship. She considered her options, and cursed vehemently when she realised how limited they were.

"Order our forces to fall back! Full retreat! Get them under cover of the sheilds! Have the Aklasp cruiser engage that warship, I do not want it to have free reign to bombard my flanks!" she yelled, and she watched as the tide of the battle turned against her. Her forces turned quickly, and began a fast march back to the protective sheilding of the Aklasp warship. As they ran, the enemy bombardment followed them, laying waste to the stragglers. She turned her head skyward, and watched as the Aklasp warship halted its attack on the mandalorian lines, and began to concentrate its fire on the warship.

**********************

Solo watched his command holo carefully, and sighed when he saw that the combined efforts of the Mandalorian and GFFA artillery was notgoing to stop the advancing lines. His heart slowly sank as the feelingof immenent defeat came to him. If the Mandalorian lines fell, the battle was over. Then he saw the mandlorian lines halt, and begin to move bakwards towards thier original postitions.

"What is fett doing? Why is he retreating?" Solo asked, and Leia shook her head.

"He is outgunned Han. If he doesnt retreat, his forces will get annihilated. And if that happens, we are all done for." she said, but chiss officer looked up at them, and shook his head.

"No, Mandalorains never retreat. Fett has a plan." he said, and Solo nodded slowly. Then, a new blip appeared on the holoboard, and Solo laughed out loud as the blip opened fire on the advancing reporan lines.

"Ill be a hutts slime. Fett suckered them into the open. Thats a mandalorian warship pounding them." Solo said, and the Chiss officer nodded.

"Like I said, Mandalorians never retreat." he said, and Leia smiled. Her smile widened as the Reporan lined turned and began to run back to the coverof the massive warship that had protected them from enemy bombardments.

"Well, it lookes like Fett had given us some breathing room. Lets make the most of it." Hand said and everyone in the command room nodded. Han turned back to the holo, and studied the battle, then saw the massive enemy warship turn to engage to mandalorian cruiser. Han frowned however, when instead ofreturning fire, the Mandalorian cruiser continuedto assault the retreating troops, and began to move towards the massive cruiser.

"Now what is he doing?" Solo wondered aloud, butno one in the room was able to provide an answer.

********************************************

Seryk watched in disbelief as the Wolfsbane decloaked and opened fire, tearing huge gashes into the enemy lines. Thier advance had all been one massive faintto pull the Reporan lines out of hiding. It finally looked like they had a chance to win this battle. Seryk continued to watch as the Reporan linesbegana hasty retreat to try and get away from the massive blasts that were laying waste to them. Then he saw the massiveenemy warship turn to engage the Wolfsbane, but instead of firing back, the cruiser instead began a headlong charge at the enemy vessel. And then Seryk remembered something Fett had mentioned to him after the Wolfsbane had crashed. It will nevermake it off this planet. Now the best we can hope for it is a mobile weapons platform. Seryk knew the vessel was inno condition to take on an enemy warship that was still at full strength.

After a few moments more, Seryk realized what was going on. Fett was using the Wolfsbane as the galaxies largest battering ram, intendingto force the enemy warship to move, or risk being slammed into. But if it moved, it would expose the heart of the Reporan armies to enemy fire. Either way, Seryk realised that the enemy commander was now in a very bad situation. One that might prove to be the end of the battle.

OOC: You Fool!!!! Now I'll teach you not to mess with the Rapora!

From orbit the squadron had been waiting, their commanders impatient for a chance to get into the fight. The Savlas sat there, their weapons fooly charged, watching the battle. The squadron commander frowned as he saw the Mandalorian cruiser begin advancing on the Aklasp, its polaron cannon useless in the atmosphere. He turned to his communications officer, "We cannot allow that, how flexible are our orders?"

"Very sir, do you think we should commit?"

"Yes, order first flight to engage the enemy, be sure to have them nail that ship, Timeless Spear would be the best tactic to use."

"Yes sir."

* * *

Darth Avarice felt her flesh pucker as the Mandalorian Cruiser advanced toward her formation. She turned to the Artillery commander, "Can you hit it?"

"No sir, the target is too high, we can't hit a target at that altitude."

A squadron of Aklasp fighters roared overhead, climbing to engage the newest foe, but there was not need. From high above four Savla class cruisers screamed into the engagement. Loosing their mines as they shot toward the target firing everything. The blasts pierced the shield and blew the dorsal centerline away as smoke poured from the hatches. The mines formed an enormous cloud around the Cruiser, firing into the ship blasting at the hull, ripping the vessel apart bit by bit. Then the Savlas returned, their weapons ripping across the ship's centerline, tearing the ship apart before flashing above or below the craft at full speed. A series of blasts from the ground flashed across the lower hull, damaging the repulsor lifts. The Savlas broke and turned back to the engagement and the first dual medium plasma cannon blasts from the latest run ripped through the ship's secondary reactor and the entire engine compartment detonated as the craft tumbled backward, still over the empty space between the lines as it thundered to the ground and detonated. The leading formations of both armies were battered from the blast as a kilometer nearly a kilometer wide appeared between them.

* * *

Around the UDA positions the Jedi and commandos had hastily managed to entrench as the Rapora approached. Their first line had been cut down by a series of fierce blasts from entrenched positions, those that remained took cover before returning fire. Melina Thompson lifted her blaster carbine to her shoulder and cut down a Vagaari warrior as he charged toward their position. She glanced back to the main Raporan force, an army of exceptional strength in her estimation. An army that she had to delay, "Zekk, take command of 3rd Company, wheel right charge, barn door procedure."

"What?" Zekk yelled as a Concussion missile screamed past their fortifications and into the barren ground.

"Attack the enemy flank but only pivot your force, got it?" Melina yelled back.

"Got it," Zekk answered as he bent down and ran from crater to crater to the Company's position. He managed to dodge the volleys of blaster and plasma fire that shot toward him. Still the Rapora could clearly see him.

* * *

Darth Fury marched along the second line of warriors, he could see a figure in the distance and through the force knew that it was a Jedi. Letting a soft hiss escape his lips he knew that this battle would be more difficult then he anticipated.

* * *

Corran Horn winced as the Mandalorian Cruiser crashed into the ground and exploded. He dodged a line of laser blasts from a Savla's antistarfighter cannon, "Solo this is Horn, we are very heavily engaged, the enemy nearly has complete air superiority."

"I know Horn, but I don't have anything to send you, we may be forced back on the ground as well, just do as much as you can."

"Yeah, thanks," Corran fumed as he turned toward friendly forces, "Alright all flights reform and keep your wits, we've got more incoming...sith."

An Aklasp fighter shot past his cockpit, its blue positron cannon firing at an aged X-wing. Corran centered his sights on the enemy and launched a pair of Proton Torpedoes. The blasts merely knocked down the ship's shields and sent it spining away for a moment, "You clear Tigre four, get beck to your flight."

Cursing Horn looked back at the sensors and saw an entire squadron of Aklasp heading his way, "May the force be with us..."

Alpha One checked the sensors on his Missileboat, then quickly checked how many missiles he had left. He and his pilots have been very economic with the warheads, as they represented the main avantage a Missileboat had over any other starfighter. Without any reloading craft they had to make every single shot count. He had enough torpedoes left, a handful of bombs and even some of the cluster missiles.

"Alpha Group on me", the pilot repeated. His pilots did not answer on the comm, they simply reformed and followed their leader. Precise Imperial obedience.

Alpha One smiled tightly as he ordered his pilots to pick out one of the Aklasp fighters that were moving against the Alliance.

"One, Three. We have Kar Asps on us."

Alpha One automatically moved his hand to the comm. "Spear Leader, Alpha One, we take the Aklasp. Help us get rid of the Kar Asps on out tails."

"Acknowledged." Horn confused by sober voice answered.

"Alpha's engage Slams."

The Delta Missile Boats accelerated drastically, momentarily appearing above and behind the Aklasp starfighters.

"Fire specials." Alpha One ordered.

A dozen of the special seeker cluster missiles were launched by Alpha squadron. Every missile splintering in smaller missiles that picked out the entire Aklasp squadron. Far too many warheads for the Aklasp gravitational shields to handle. Of the twelve Aklasps only two survived but already one of them was rapidly losing altitude and dropping on the ground.

The Kar Asps that had been chasing the Alphas had been left behind, but already Corran's X-wing group were taking them out.

"Thanks Alphas," Corran said.

"Do not thank us until this is over, there are still plenty of enemies around here."

***

"Stele has moved to assist the Alliance air squadrons," Grabel informed.

"What about the Darktroopers and the At-Ats near the forest?" Oreton asked for confirmation.

"Meatgrind." Klarn answered.

***

Originally devised to be used by droids the Darktrooper armor was proving its worth. After Mohc's death and the loss of the Arc Hammer, the project had been quietly resurrected, it had taken the researchers three decades to complete a design to be used by human and not only by humanoid creatures.

Today the the force-senstive troopers were wearing Phase V Darktrooper suits, they were finally completing the gap between Jedi and clonetroopers that existed in the Clone Wars. Against an enemy such as the Rapora, Kyp quickly learned to appreciate that gap.

To control minds was forbidden for a Jedi, so using the Force to create mind melds only worked when other Jedi were participating. And tehre were never enough Jedi. But the Darktroopers worked similarly, whilst he could not tranmit to them the detailed thought, they reacted to his rough thoguhts and intentions.

At least fifty Rapora warriors had fallen before them a single Dark Trooper had been downed. The shock of facing cortosis ore in the dark trooper armor had cost them dearly.

Others had died at distance, the imbedded plasma weapon on thier right arm included a secondary fire method. Rocketlaunchers.

The Dark Troopers had not hesitated to use them at will, reserving some for the Rapora walkers. The AT-ATs continued to advance, trying to push the Rapora back into the forest, and trying to open a path towards the Rapora Headquarters.

On the ground the blackened grassland was splashed with blood, not only Rapora but Imperial. Whilst the dark troopers had only lost a few men, the Rapora leader had taken his troopers into the formation of standard stormtroopers, which were not that much of a match for armored and deadly stormtroopers.

Kyp wanted to turn to help them, but a sensation of alert made him turn to the Darktroopers. They were firing at a group of Droideka'kar droids which were coming at him. Deal with the strongest enemy first. The stormtrooper could still hold out some more against the Rapora. The dark troopers were most efficient when directed at a single objective, and the droideka'kars had the priority.

***

No one had noticed where Ulan had vanished to. Having spent a little over a week at Emante Base, Han and Ulan had come up with some crazy last-minute tactics for defense. While enough of the artillery would be disposed of in the battle field, some other needed to be kept safe from initial bombardments.

Equipped with small sized shiled generators, dozens of twin-missile launchers had been hidden near the shores of the Emante Rivers. The launchers were connected by underground galleries that had been built during the Clone wars. All Solo had done was put them to good use.

Solos signal came to Ulan, it was time to use the missile launchers. Solo and Ulan had decided to equip them with their limited share of Ion pulses and use them once the Rapora decided to bring droids into battle.

With cruiser against cruiser in the atmosphere and the fighter superioriy balance constantly shifting, Solo had decided this would be as good a moment as any to employ his 'Jawas'.

The top 'hatch' for the underground launchers opened and a lift mechanism raised the launchers to ground level, with their cover partly shadowing them, from a distance the brightness of the twin launcher would mimic a pair of glowing orange eyes under a brown dirt cover. Jawas.

"All launchers fire," Ulan ordered. The Jawas were finally attacking.

Dozens of Ion pulses fired towards the droids regiments of the Rapora, the damage would not be permanent but even half a minute of freezing in the battle field would help the Alliance and their allies.

The missiles were not meant to explode on impact, rather they had a proximity detonator that made them explode above the regiments. The Mandalorian quickly realized the effect of the weapons and tried to maximize the temporary advantage the warheads were giving them.

The Rapora forces were being roughly handled by their imperial adversary, the appearance of darktroopers had been something of a surprise, the superiority of Raporan equipment would soon begin to tell.

The Raporan walkers stood, their weapons flashing through the smoke, like enormous guardians, they had kept their primary weapons in reserve, now as the battle seemed to grow desperate they employed them. The lead Walker pivoted toward the formation of darktroopers, it's head aimed above them, and those in the formation hardly took notice, firing on their immediate opponents. Suddenly the Rapora warriors fell back, and the Darktroopers stopped to recharge their weapons with the advent of the respite.

From the chin of the walker a single plasma bomb flashed out of its housing and soared through and arch that took it into the center of the darktrooper formation. With an enormous flash a quarter of them lay dead, another half were wounded or concussed, while the quarter that remained in fighting shape kept up their struggle.

The AT-AT walkers kept ploding forward with a trio of AT-ST marching beside their larger brethern, a force that would have made even the toughest troops stop and reconsider their plans, but not the Rapora.

The Walker spun toward the nearest AT-AT, and fired its plasma cannons. The shots ripped through the mechanical drive as the AT-STs that escorted it returned fire, but failed to penetrate the walkers shielding. The AT-STs disappeared from view as the AT-AT exploded showering the area with debris. Then as the dust cleared the AT-STs were destroyed by the second plasma bomb that the walker had carried. It was now clear that Imperial AT-ATs were no longer the fortresses they once were as Raporan walkers took out their opponents, one walker at a time.

* * *

Darth Avarice frowned as reports from the front continued to flood in, "So the GFFA had another surprise." Frustrated she turned to the communications officer, "Order the Aklasp to engage the GFFA, we must eliminate them as quickly as possible. Contact the fleet, I want Savla runs on the GFFA and Mandalorian lines, we have nearly complete air superiority lets use it."

* * *

Zekk dropped down in one of the craters along what remained of the UDA lines, and glanced at the medley of troops arrayed within the limited cover, the majority of which were commandos. He glanced over the embankment where the Rapora forces were moving toward them and back at the troops, "Alright here's what we do."

Seryk watched as the Reporan droids and walkers that had survived the massive bombardment from the now destoryed cruiser were struck with the wave of ion blasts. Now there was an opening. A small one, but one that he could not afford to let past. He stood back up, and quickly rallied the remaining Mandalorian troops and vehicles into a hasitly formed battle line. And with a loud yell, they charged at the enemy troops. Without the walkersand droid'ekas with them, the remaining reporan ground troops had lost a major edge in the battle, and the Mandalorians made quick work of their weakened foes.

The ramining mandlorian hover tanks quickly opened fire, devestating the few remaining reporan walkers which were now without their sheilds. The walkers fell quickly, reporan warriorsscattering to avoid the explosions that they knew would follow. The heavy mandalorian battlesuits opened up with their anti-infantry cannons, laying waste to the reporan droids that still stood, quickly decimating them. Then the Repora, realising that they were doomed, turned and charged at the mandalorians, determined to take as many of them with them as possible. The mandlorians, long wanting to shed the blood of this dangerous foe, gladly met them in open combat, eager to see who was best.

Fett stared at his sensors carefully, and began to let loose a long string of the strongest curses he could think of in ever language he knew. Katarn standing next to him, winced at the ones he understood, knowing that he didnt want to know about the ones that he could not understand.

"Blasted repora are bringing down more of their capitol ships. Without air support, they are going to blast our lines into nothing." Fett said, and Kyle frowned.

"Do you have anymore vessels in orbit?" he asked, and Fett shook his head.

"No, the Wolfsbane was the only one I could openly contact, theother vessel is for our evacuation. Assuming we live that long, that is." he said, and Katarn frowned at this comment.

"You doubt that we will?" he asked, and Fett nodded.

"Unless Solo has a warfleet parked nearbye, the Repora arejust going to bombard us into oblivion. And there isnt a thingwe can do about it now." he said, and Katarn slowly nodded, suddenly realising that there was a good chance that they would never make it off this planet.

"Sir, those firewalkers are on the move, heading towards the GFFA lines." a mandalorian suddenly yelled out,and Fett nodded.

"Well, I think I may have a few weapons that the GFFA can use against them. Order a squad of troopers to take some HDC's to the GFFA lines. Those might work. If not, at least we can say we tried." Fett ordered, anda mandalorian nodded. Kyle looked over to Fett, a puzzled look on his face.

"What in the name of the force are HDCs?" he asked, and Fett looked over to him.

"Those firewalker creatures appear to be immune to fire and normal energy weapons. Normal energy weapons use heat anda small explosion to cause damage. These use an energy discharge to simply disintigrate the target at a molecular level. No heat involved." he said, and Katarn got a horrified look on his face.

"Disruptor cannons? You have disruptor cannons? Even the empire outlawed those things! And thats saying something!" Katarn yelled, but Fett simply shrugged.

"We never followed the laws of the empire, so we didnt really care. Besides, we would normally use them to bring down magnetically sealed doors. Although they might work for this." Fett said, and katarnsimply stared back at him. He knew that he shouldprotest more, but he also know that desperate times called for desperate measures. But he had to wonder if things were truelly getting so desperate that the some of the cruelest weapons ever created were warranted.

Ilos stared at his datapad, and smiled. Repairs to the Stormshore were moving along at a steady pace, and the ship would be ready to leave drydock soon. The rest of his fleet was already repaired and ready for combat. And his forces had been supplemented by the remaining vessels of the Adumarian defence fleet. All told, that left him with a trio of Star Destoryers, a bothan assualt cruiser, and half a dozen smaller vessels. A much smaller force than when he had started out, but still enough to cause havoc if he used it correctly. But hopefully Athien would continue working with him, and her vessels would complemnt his in firepower. Then he could get backto work disrupting the Reporan supply lines.

As Ilos sat there, his comm system beeped, and he tapped a button. A hologram appeared in front of him of a familiar face. Ilos smiled, and suddenly felt the wirght on his shoulderslighten slightly.

"Athien, you are back. How went your mission?" he asked, and Athien smiled.

"Well, I have some good knews, some more good news, and some bad news. But we should discuss it in person. Perhaps over dinner?" she asked, and Ilos nodded.

"Of course. I also have somegood news to report. But we shall discuss ot over dinner. Im sure you will need to be debriefed before anything else." he said, and Athien nodded.

"Yes. I will meet you afterwards. We have a lot of work to do." she said, and the hologram vanished. Ilos leaned back in his chair, the smileon his face never waivering. He wondered to himself what all of her knews would consist of. He just hopedthe bad knews wouldnt outweigh the good. They needed some luck on their side, and luck was becoming more scarce as the days went by.

OOC: Old enemies begun anew?

IC: Deep in the core of the galaxy, far from even the few spacelanes that are known to pass through the severe cluster of start, black holes, and nebulas, a small star floated through space, having found safe harbor in a small stable section of space. Around this world floated a sereies of planets, all but one of the dead worlds devoid of life. But one world held life, and it was on this world that refugees of a lost war had found peace. On the run from the fleets of the New Republic, they had stumbled across this world entirely by accident, and had decided to stay here, thinking it would be a safe place to hide.

Originally, the colonists had thought that eventually they couldlaunch a renewed assault on the Republic, but finally realised that they did not have the manpower to even make a nuisance of themselves. So thay had stayed hidded, and decided instead to build a world for their children to live on, one that would remain hidden from the turmoils of the rest of the galaxy. To defend the world, they had used a peice of technology that the ressurectoed emperor had intoruced to the galaxy, the World Devestator. Releasing the two of them that they had upon of of the dead worlds orbiting the star, the colonists had managed to build several more of the massive vessels, and then had turned them to building a massive fleet of automated starfighters, enough to simply overwhelm any fleet sent at them. But they also fabricated buildings for the colonists and their familes as they werebrough in from the rest of the galaxy. As had been a hard, but peacefull existance thus far. One thay had hoped would last forever.

On the colonized world, the leader of the colonists slept, her bed filled with rare feathers from birds of the world. Her people had allowed her this one luxury on this world, for having helped them as much as she had. But to her, it was simply a memory of more comfterable times, when teh galaxy had been a different place. There had been nights when she hated the bed, but she had accepted it the gift it was meant to be. But this night, her bed brought her little peace. She had recieved a communication earlier in the week, one that had shaken her to the core of her being. The communication had been short, and to the point.

"You served me faithfully and without doubt in the mighty Empire, andcontinued to serve me after me death. Now it is time for you to once again serve me. If you do so faithfully, andwithout question, you will be greatly rewarded. If you refuse, you will wish you and your people had died at the hands of the rebels. I await your responce." the man had said. She wished they had never received the message, she wished the core of the galaxy would have swallowed it up,never to have made it to her world. Her people had known peace for over a dozen years now. She had no idea how she could just throw them back into the war, especially after thay had managed to avoid the war against the vong.

Slowly, the elderly woman rose from her bed, and made her way overto her closet. She opened it, and stared at teh Imperial uniform that hung there, as if waiting for her to once again take up arms for her Emperor. At one point she may have, without question. But now, she had a family. She had married, and had children to worry about. Children that she did not want to witness the horrors that war eventually brought. But she did not know how to avoid the call of her former master. Not without risking the livesof all the people that had come to trust her.

The woman walked back to her bed, and sat down. Beside her, her husband slept peacefully, not knowing that the fate of their world now hung in the balance. Slowly, she laid back down, and tried to sleep. But every time she closed her eyes, she saw the face of the emperor, staring at her relentlessly. When sleepfinallycameto her, her dreamswere filled with the horrors she had seen in the civil war, and what would happen if a war was brought to her world. In her sleep, the old woman cried.

OOC: Intersting... Could that be Daala?

Ic:

The Walkers advance was not halted by the heavier plasma weapons of the Rapora. The Imperial's most impressive ground unit had never been halted in battle, and today was not a good day to begin.

The Rapora may have been suprised by the perseverance of the AT-ATs which continued to exchange fire to the Raporan Troops and their walkers, despite the loss ratio for the Imperial Forces, they were not trying to patch their formation and continued to push into the forest. The ultimate purpose was to drive them back to the forest and ambush them with the reserve units that quietly waited in the forest. The Rapora tried to open themselves a path, cutting through the Imperial's formation into the relative safety of open ground.

Charred bodies, missing limps and overheated piles of scrap metal covered now the battlefield, providing a dangerous terrain for the ground troops that moved to close the pathways for the Rapora. Kyp's remaining Darktroopers had successfully dealt with the Droideka'kar Destroyers, partly thanks to the doublebladed Plasma Bomb of the Rapora.

The Imperial's Grenadiers and long-range troopers were clearing potential enemies for the Darktroopers, while the latter were spending their last long range mini-rockets in damaging the tall Rapora Walkers. Kyp concentrated in directing his troopers to select key targets, aiming to the lead walkers or to those that had not yet used their plasma bombs.

Some of the heavier Raporan troops had long since discovered the prime vulnerability of the AT-AT design: Using highly powered cannons they were shooting at the legs of the AT-AT, places where their armor was not as strong and were critical hits to the gargantuan weapons.

On his left he saw the high energy shot destroy one of the AT-ATs front leg, shattered pieces of debris fell on Kyp who blocked them off with the Force. After a handful he wondered about the loud thud that should have followed. To his suprise the AT-AT was only immobilized. It stood perfectly still, and exchanged turbolaser fire with the Raporan troops.

In a fraction of a second the AT-ATs remaining legs unattached themselves from the body of the metallic monster. For an instant the AT-AT seemed to fall but was halted. Held by an invisible hand but it was not Kyp's, an artificial force was making the AT-AT hover. In the rear, the engines for the vessel became visible and powered the vehicle towards the Rapora's lines.

***

After almost four decades, the Empire had finally found a way to improve the AT-ATs design, sacrificing some of the psychological effect, and most of the troops space, the Hover AT-AT worked efficiently to clear up rapidly the enemy's front lines with a nice touch of surprise.

And some confusion. Of the dozens of AT-ATs in the field less than a quarter of them were actually of the newer hovering variant. The rest were of the conventional type, filled with troops.

The AT-STs , the handful of Chariots and the pair of Floating Fortresses were progressing with their specific mission objectives. Except for the absence of Juggernaut, Oreton considered that most other Imperial Ground Unit was represented in the battlefield.

The holoprojector sparked, faded and return again with it's blueish hue. Some enemy fire had hite his mobile command base, but he focused on the holographic stage where his units were fighting. The Rapora had not yet given up in piercing through the Imperials Forces, their walkers and their plasma bombs had taken out their share of AT-ATs and had killed a quarter of his Darktroopers, those that had been injured had already been picked up by his fastest vehicles and moved away from vulnerable positions.

The Rapora Forces tried to move tangentially to the Imperial's front lines, moving away from the forest, which they knew could easily become a trap. The Imperials Forces were not coming closer to the Rapora that reacted to their advance by flexibly maneuvering their lines. The losses caused by rocket launchers and the long-ranged AT-AT weapons had not been enough to thin out the Rapora's heavy ground units.

"Transmit, Code Aurek-Seven." Oreton ordered.

***

In the head segment of the specially modified AT-ATs Code Aurek-Seven was received with mixed sentiments. But the order was obeyed.

From less than a quarter of the entire AT-ATs a retractable missile launcher appeared. Whilst the Rapora had their plasma bombs as a secondary weapon for their walkers, some of their Imperial counterparts had been refitted with Proto Torpedo Launchers.

Missiles streaked from the Imperial side over to the Rapora, and walkers fell, crushing troops or lighter vehicles. Segments of the Rapora formations fell in disarray. Robbed from their cover, the Rapora ground soldiers madly drove into the Imperial Formation in an attempt to buy time for the lines to regroup. Overpowering stormtroopers and dying to smaller vehicles, the Rapora warriors employed their strength in a frenzied sacrifice. It was an opportunity Kyp took to wreak havoc in the disarrayed Rapora lines.

Darth Avarice fumed as the reports continued to stream in, it wasn't going as she'd hoped, and if it wasn't going as she'd hoped it was going much worse then the Timeless One would have liked. Avarice was becoming painfully aware of this problem, "Yes my lord, our forces continue to advance but the battle has become an engagement of attrition, we've lost many warriors already."

The Timeless One frowned, his cloak blowing in some unseen wind, "The enemy has surprised you."

"Yes my lord," Avarice said meekly.

"You have four more hours, any longer and Commander Clawdar will have an appointment with you."

Avarice felt her guts freeze for an instant, Clawdar was the commander of the Timeless One's personal guards. He was also an executioner, "I will have victory within that time my lord."

"Be sure you will," The Timeless One answered as his image faded away into darkness.

Avarice spun ,"Order the veteran regiments forward, also inform the Vagaari that they'll be next if their assaults fail."

The Aklasp commander turned to them, "It seems like overkill."

Avarice felt a slight smile pass her lips, "They've given us a bloody nose, I intend to ensure our victory is complete and that we've shown the true strength of our resolve. Even if we have to march over a rampart of our own dead."

A black clad warrior flanked by two men sheathed in what looked like a pair of fully enclosed metal suits stepped into the command post, "Darth Avarice, Mage Valen awaiting orders."

Avarice smiled much more brightly, "Excellent, it is time the Sith return to their former glory, you may advance your regiment."

"As I live and die commander."

* * *

Zekk glanced over to Melina Thompson's position, "Alright, ready your weapons!" The troops around him hastily made sure their equipment was ready. He drew his lightsaber and ignited it, "Lets go!"

All along the UDA lines soldiers stood and opened fire, the force under Zekk's command rushed out of cover in a sweeping move to engage the enemy. The Rapora were ready for them.

Light disks careened into the formation of soldiers. The commandos in the force were especially hard hit when a Raporan strafing run blasted into their lines. Then they were among the enemy, blasters and lightsabers flashing. Lowbacca watched as Zekk was surrounded by six Rapora warriors.

The Rapora lit their sabers and attacked as one force. It would only be a matter of time till he was cut down. Then suddenly they backed away forming a circle and Darth Fury stepped into view as he drew his lightsaber, "Are you a match for a sith Jedi?"

* * *

Boba Fett watched as the Raporan troops directly to his front broke and ran, their formations breaking apart. He stopped and watched in shock, "What warriors are these, I thought the Rapora were a race of warriors." A cheer went up through the ranks, but moments later halted as the Rapora stopped and reformed, and two more regiments of troops left the treeline. A chill went down Fett's back as he saw that these warriors were decorated with unit markings not unlike those he'd seen on aged warriors, the reality of what they'd just faced began to settle in, "Rally! Rally, we just licked their first wave." His chest tightened, the battle had been too easy until now, now it was aged veteran against aged veteran, warrior against warrior.

"Let us how them out metal."

* * *

The Imperial lines had detierated into a stalemate, until now. Two new regiments were arriving. One Raporan, and one sith. Their black figures barely in the destruction. Acolytes and Mages, Warriors and Soldiers, over five hundred warriors, each an equal to a Jedi, and each as devoted to victory as the Rapora. They waited as the Rapora reformed and prepared to return to the advance.

Seryk watched, a look of astonishment hidden by his helmet, as the reporan warriors broke and ran. He joined in with the cheers that rose up amognst the ranks of mandalorians. Suddenly, it looked as if they just might win this fight. Then he saw them. From the line of trees marched more troops. But through the force, and with his own eyes, he could tell these were seasoned warriors. The battle was not yet over. Not even close. As the cheers died down, he looked around, and noted the many mandalorian bodies that lay scattered. Thankfully, it seemed to him that even more Repora had died in the fight, but the mandalorians were dwindeling in numbers. This was not looking good to him at all.

"Seryk, these are fierce warriors you face. Are you sure you are ready for this?" a voice suddenly said, and Seryk looked about, searching for the source of the voice. But no one was looking at him, nor did anyone else seem to hear the voice.

"Of course he is ready. If he was not, do you think he would be foolish enough to face them?" rang out another voice, this one he recognized as his grandmother. As Seryk wondered what was going on, his surroundings began to waver, then change to the bleak landscape of Tatooine. He turned quickly, and saw standing behind him the blue image of his grandmother, but also the image of an older man. His dark brown hair was tied back into a braid, and his light blue eyes held in them a fierce determination. After a moment, it dawned on Seryk who he was seeing.

"So, you recognize me? Thats good. I figured you would ask me who I was, and all that nonsence. Good to see you have some brains in your head." his grandfather said, and his grandmother turned to him, a frown on her face.

"He found our home, didnt he? That alone proves his intelligence, and the fact that he is on that world proves his bravery. I told you he was a spitting image of you." she said, and his grandfather laughed.

"Please tell me this is important, if not, I have a battle to fight." Seryk snapped, and his grandparents turned back to him.

"Control your anger Seryk, such things lead to the dark side." his grandmother said, and his grandfather nodded in agreement.

"Listen to her Seryk. I have seen what the dark side can do to people. It is not a pleasent site. As for what we are doing, we are just making sure you know what you are getting into. After what happened to your father, we were surprised that you would simply run off an join a war like this one." his grandfather said, and Seryk nodded.

"I am doing what is right. What's wrong with that?" he asked, and his grandfather shrugged.

"Nothing is wrong with it. But are you doing it just because it is the right thing to do? Or are you doing it for other reasons?" his grandfather asked, and Seryk shook his head.

"No other reason. What other reason would there be?" he asked, and his grandmother smiled.

"There are many reasons to go and fight a war. A quest for glory, a want of power, a search for vengeance, all of these have been reasons for war. none of them good reasons. And all of them lead to the dark side." his grandmother quipped, and Seryk thought about it for a moment, but then shook his head.

"While you have a point, none of those reasons would suit me. I fight because it is the right thing to do." he said, and his grandmother nodded.

"I will not disagree with you on that, but this battle, on this world. Is this the right time to fight? Are you sure you can win? Or are you just throwing yourself into it because everyon else thinks its right? You felt those warriors through the force. They have years of experiance, both in combat and the force. Are you sure that now is your time to fight?" his grandmother asked, and Seryk stopped to think.

While he had trained for many year in hand to hand combat, he skill in the force was lacking severely. And compared to many of the mandalorians that were on the planet, he had never finished his training. All in all, he was heavily outmatched by just about everyone around him.

"Wether I am ready or not for this battle, I can't just leave. We need all the warriors we can get for this fight." he said, and his grandfather smiled.

"Even in the face of death, he stands his ground, and he uses wisdom as his reason. Flawed reason, but reason nonetheless." his grandfather said, and his grandmother nodded.

"Seryk, you will live through this fight. I have seen that much. But know this, the fights ahead of you will be much worse. Not just for the galaxy as a whole, but for you in particular. Hold true to who you are, and never forget where you came from." his grandmother said, and Seryk got a puzzled look on his face. He was about to ask what she meant, when her whispy form vanished.

"Seryk, a little advice for you. Sometimes you most valuable weapon, is not the one in your hand, but the ones in your enemies." his grandfather said, and then his form also disapeared. Suddenly, Seryk was back on the battle feild, and it seemed like only a moment had passed. He looked around again, and saw that the mandalorians were re-forming thier lines to confront the next wave of warriors. Seryk joined them, and pondered for a moment about what his grandfather had said before he vanished. But he tossed the thought aside, knowing he had more important things to worry about. The repora were advancing.
