My question is this: How is it possible for that page to ever say "yes".

And this is the response to which post? http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif

@LLF

Afraid of something new? ;)

I'm suprised, that nobody here mentioned this:

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2008/0 ... tnews.html

Object in the right picture looks like a balloon. That one in the middle could be anything, maybe just a bird. Objects on the left, difficult to say without seeing the original picture. Maybe an odd cloud formation, a lens reflection or really something completely different. 8O

Well, the title of the page is "Has the Collider Destroyed the Earth Yet", with a big "NO" on the page itself. Thus, if the Collider ended up destroying the world, the page wouldn't be able to tell us that since we would all be gone.

Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side!

It's kinda like that "Earth status" bar that GAT had before he vanished from the forums. Anybody remember that?

... *Sigh* I feel deprived with our complete and total lack of Thrawn-based characters, now. Much as I hated Zahn's execution of Thrawn, making him a veritable god, I liked the idea of Thrawn, who could determine how a person or group of people would react based upon their art....

Er, right. And that relates to this because... umm... Okay, so it doesn't.

What I was about doing here was showing that some weird looking things indeed can be explained very easily. On the other side there are also people who try to explain everything away, even if such a thing can´t be explained. You already know all these explanations: weather-balloon, swamp-gas, flares or (newly added) chinese laterns. This is a Larry King Show recorded last year in November where he has some military wittnesses in the studio who have been closely engaged in the well researched "Rendlesham Forest" incident. This spring the british Ministry of Defense released their data which they had collected about their own UFO-research, including the "Rendlesham Forest" case. In this show there´s also an alleged scientists who trys to explain away those things these soldiers have encountered, although one of these men even touched that UFO they had watched for a whole while. It´s sadly enough that such kind of "scientists" try to ridicule seemingly reliable eye wittnesses instead of doing their own serious research. But it could be that those kind of guys are paid to perform that kind of ridicule tactics for what reason ever.

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't know if someone mentioned this before me, and if so I apologize, but have you ever heard of the Drake Equation?

Carl Sagan (as always) does a good job explaining it, and you can find a video of it on youtube I believe.

"I saw the greatest minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving, hysterical, naked, dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix." -Allen Ginnsberg, "Howl"

Yes, absolutely! Good point. Thats the perfect moment to post an interesting article. You all sure remember when they did announced that they had discovered a possible earthlike planet, Earth 2, last year. It looks like they maybe have found another one:

Just 4 light years away. Thats not even worth to turn on the Falcon. A simple space taxi would do it.

Amazing news nearly every week so it seems.

Its snowing on Mars! :)

http://www.nasa.gov/home/hqnews/2008/sep/HQ_08246_Phoenix.html

"Nothing like this view has ever been seen on Mars," said Jim Whiteway, of York University, Toronto, lead scientist for the Canadian-supplied Meteorological Station on Phoenix. "We'll be looking for signs that the snow may even reach the ground."

And while the "Rocket Man" flew from France to England over the channel he has been watched by an UFO:
