Hello Again, my fellow Rebelion fans

Earlier this month, Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbia. Consider, first, that Kosovo is the historical heart and religious soul of Serbia. Hundreds of Serbian Orthodox churches, monasteries, and holy sites in Kosovo attest to this. But the full answer would have to include that what is happening in Kosovo today is of far reaching importance for the entire world.

It is well known what the unilateral declaration of Kosovo’s independence, as well as recognition of such independence, means. Since the United Nations Charter is based of the sovereign equality of all its members and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 specifically guarantees the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, nobody could assume the right to violate this valid Resolution by embarking upon the adventure of recognizing such a unilateral independence, pretending that the Security Council resolution is not binding upon him. Nobody has the right to position himself over and above the Resolution 1244 and to openly violate it by recognizing unilateral independence. Does any state really think that it has that right and that it can, with the support of its allies, act contrary to the decisions and resolutions of the Security Council?

Oh, before I forget, I would also like to point out that the KLA was a front for the CIA, and supported many acts of terrorism including the destruction of cultural monuments, burning and destroying Serbian religious sites, and killing innocent Serbian civillians. Remember, this was done BY THE CIA (through a front, but by the CIA nonetheless.

Uhuh. I generally don't lock topics. But given the charged, bias viewpoint here, I don't think there is any healthy discussion to come from this.

I can't say that I'm well informed on the issue.

We'll talk about this whenever people calm down and learn more about it.

Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.
