Krytos and the Custom rank

A long time ago, in a forum far away ...

 

The Custom Rank War!

 

After working his way through the SWRebellion galaxy of threads, our young hero joined the mysterious Reloaded team in battling for a new and fun Rebellion game. During the growing struggle, he also made treks forth with a galaxy of pretty pictures and other crap.

 

Now is his greatest challenge yet, his 2000th post is on the way and there is no Custom Rank in site!

So, for those who don't know - when a member reaches the 2000 post milestone they get the honour of a custom rank and rank insignia.

And like so many before me, I've got no clue as to what mine shall be. So I'm asking you guys for your help - suggest away!

Hmm, I'm definetely a Rebel/New Republic bloke (sorry GMC ) - more so New Republic.

 

Also, I wouldn't mind it including something to do with my 3d modelling - but then again, it's not a necessity.

Well, I'm not particular creative, but it would be cool to see a New Republic insignia. You know the coloured dots kind.

I´ve just recognised that he even isn´t in my contacts-list on youtube anymore.

 

I´ll try to do some investigations about that. If it´s really true, that he left the forum I will open a separate thread for that to talk about it.

Im pretty sure he left. For him to remove a bunch of us as his Facebook friends he must be mighty upset. Ive tried contacting him on there and got no reply. I might try an e-mail too, just to see whats up.

Okay, guys, this is Krytos thread for his custom rank. I hate to be the evil moderator, but lets steer this back on topic. The matter concerning Tofu is being taken care of and I, as well as the involved parties, would appreciate that no public discussion be made of it. That ends it for now.

All this talk of computer know-how, R&D, and such reminds me of something. There is a character in the Thrawn trilogy and then in the Hand of Thrawn duology named Ghent who originally worked for smuggler Talon Karrde and then went on to work for the New Republic. His title was Chief of Cryptography, basically making him the chief slicer/hacker in the New Republic. Somehow I think that might fit you, Krytos...

Lesser God was my backup rank, though I don't know that it fits you entirely, Krytos. Feel free to use it, though.

If I may, allow me a moment to give a "Boring Explanation And Korrection"...after all, it is my job.

 

 

There is a difference between a rank and a title. For instance, being someone like "Rogue Leader" is a title. Look at Wedge Antilles. As Rogue Leader, he was the rank of Major (Squadron Leader), Commander (Lieutenant Colonel/Wing Commander), Captain (Colonel/Group Captain), and some form of General. He was still Rogue Leader, which was both his call-sign and title. A rank is what level of posting one holds within the military hierarchy. I just thought I'd clear this up that way you don't think you have to restrict yourself to the ultra-high ranks. For instance, originally, I was just going to use "Fleet Admiral" for mine...that is, until I found out about the existence of the rank "Supreme Moff" and thought that would be cool since no one has ever used it. I mean, even if you wanted to be a "Lieutenant", you'd still be a higher rank than the fellows who have received the automatic ranks of Commodore and Lieutenant Colonel, etc. But it's up to you.

Personally I prefer something along the lines of "Dorkus Malorkus" ok.. old humor...

Alrighty, so the R&D approach seems to be the most fitting so far

So now it's just what to have as my rank emblem

Allow me to suggest some military "dots" insignia. I suggest looking at this page for inspiration. Or you could always do the 9-dot general approach. I think it would be cool to see some Rebel dots about the place, especially something like 9 dots, which would probably rank as a Rebel/Republic equivalent of a Grand Admiral.
