Crazy Oceanography Professor (cont.)

Well I lost the first few posts I had about the insanity of this guy. But he says such awesome things I have to post them.

 

Today he said that anyone who doesn't like pizza is a communist.

 

And I don't think I mentioned this in the last topic, but a few weeks ago it was a half hour into the class, and all of a sudden he stops talking, looks at us, and says "alright, I'm sick of looking at your ugly faces. I'll see you next week." And that was the end of class.

Me:"Wait, one of France's kings was gay?"

Another friend: "He's French! They're all gay!"

 

I'm sorry if you're French- I know that you do not have a predetermined sexual orientation. I just thought that was really funny when I heard it...

HAHAHA Thats hilarious... Sometimes I really miss the random comments from my old professors.. hehe.. ahh to be in college again..

I like my southern neighbors. As much as I hate to admit it, the US needs those southern friends. You sure as heck aren't gonna catch me working in onion fields or washing dishes for the rest of my life. Someone's gotta do it.

How about the 4.5% unemployed in this country?... i think they would like that job... but not for the wage thats currently being offered... since.. you know.. its all under the table anyway.. cuz.. the government cant catch wind of it... so... why not pay them close to nothing?.. and over work them... yea... sounds like a plan.

Hey, that's just America. Those unemployed peeps are unemployed because no one will hire them...it's because they are lazy. Im sorry, but there are always places hiring people to do the simple labor jobs. If those lazy bums would rather sit around and mooch off the system than actually do some work, then tough bananas to them.

Today, my Bio teacher stopped the lesson in order to tell us how to grow marijuana. He even told us which lights to use in order to achieve best results.

Holy crap! Course my chem teacher gives us chemical forumlas for explosives... She claims that, seeing as we can't buy the materials anywhere, she sleeps just fine having given us that knowledge... Little does she know my grandfather gets benefits having worked at Du'Pant! (However you spell it)

Well, this one is about my U.S. Government professor. Today she said that the President of the US does not downsize the American beuracracy (sp) because it's the least sexy aspect of the job. I didn't quite get that comment.

Possibly because beurocrats are typically old men and women, some of whom are overweight? It's a guess, and there's no sarcasm in there- your guess is as good as mine...

 

My teacher in government is, as I've said, quite annoying. She tells us about how she's a political scientist who doesn't take sides every day before she proceeds to bash the hell out of Bush.

 

I asked her a question after class one day, saying, "How would a non-Christian President be sworn in?" Her responce? "The people would never elect an atheist."

 

... Yes, because that was the context of my question- Hindus are clearly atheists. Same thing with Jains...

 

At any rate, I still wonder about that. If you stand by what she did, essentially say, which was that the American people would not be likely to elect a President from a non-Abrahamic religion, then how do you swear a person from a non-Abrahamic religion into a court house? I'm just wondering, not dissing on anyone.

So today my Oceanography prof. was talking about how the gravitational pull of the moon and sun affect the ocean tides. So he draws a circle on the board (to represent Earth) and labels it urth. He then turns around and says "I was never good at spelling", and proceeds to bestow his knowledge of the ocean's mysteries upon us.

hahahaa... that reminds me of a teacher who works at the junior high my "old romping grounds" (city where i spent some time) who said to her students.. "if you have a question, you must raise your hand to AKS it.." ... yea... she was the english teacher.. i dont think the school district did a great job there...
