I'm interested in Casino Royale... and yet not... its not that i fear change or that Pierce Brosnan was a better Bond.. its just... i dont know... maybe im a bit... tired of the Bond series... it lost its wit in the 80's in my opinion.. and its suffering.... the last two movies left something to be desired in my opinion.. and fool me once shame on you.. fool me twice shame on me... soo.. whats fool me a third time??..

I agree, JediHunter, the Bond series has lost much of its luster of the Cold War, and no Bond movie will ever be as good as GoldFinger. Goldeneye wasn't so bad, in fact, rather good, but the other recent ones...eh. Besides, supposedly Casino Royale is supposed to depict the training of a new 007, which implies that the name "James Bond" is an assumed identity that all agents 007 assume, rather than the real name. In other words, it seems that it was never meant that we were to assume that the changing faces of Bond were meant to be the same Bond... Would be interesting to see two a former Bond come into one of the new movies--everyone's been talking about Connery coming back--but then, that's been the rumour for years and years and years now...

The latest Bond flick didn't leave "Something to be desired," J.H. In fact, I'm slightly offended that you would say that about it!
That movie left EVERYTHING to be desired. A poor plot, scientific inaccuracies a five-year-old could spot, bad sexual innuendos... *Hurls* There goes my lunch... Must stop thinking about that movie...

I'm hoping this rendition of Bond will be better. They can essentially ignore whatever happens after, and focus more on a great plot and story. Especially since it was based on a Bond novel, rather than off of someone's "oh let's put that in a Bond movie" notes. Batman Begins was a great restart of theat series... I hope Casino Royale will do the same.

The best Bond novel I ever read was long ago and it was "You only Live Twice" great book. - Grand Moff Conway

The author was Sir Ian Fleming. And I steer clear of all the new Bond movies. After Connery and Moore the "franchise" went downhill... (though I must say that the Goldeneye videogame provided much, much multiplayer fun back in high school...)

I myself have also steered clear of the films since Roger Moore stepped down. He and of course Connery were Bond to me. - Grand Moff Conway

I totally agree with that connery and moore were the best Bond-Actors. Allthough I like the two movies with Timothy Dalton. Connery and Moore just played the role with lots of humour. I missed that a lot in the last movies with Brosnan. One of my favourite Bond-Movie was "Fireball". This underwater-battle-scene is still awesome to watch!:D
I don´t know why lots of people have to complain about the new Bond-Actor. Just because he´s blond and not dark-haired?! If he should fail, what I don´t believe, than the next Bond-Actor could be probably him.

Sort of like Star Wars...
