  1. like i said, i had all Defenders, but something TK-421 said got me thinking, maybe all i need is more Defenders then he has fighters, and if i do, then i can sheild it, any thoughts?
  2. I've been playing this game for at least 4 years, and I always play as the Empire (excluding a few instances) and a friend and I always joke about the fact that every time I build a Death Star I never have enough fighters to properly screen it, now anyone who's built one and used it in battle knows the sound "We do not have enough fighters to properly sheild the death star" and I decided to get off my lazy butt and ask, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MANY FIGHERS YOU IT TAKES TO SHIELD IT!!!!! much obliged to anyone who does --- and if no one does then my personal theory goes on that it's immpossible, which was born when i sent 12 fleet carriers with full compliment of defenders (plus death star fighters, also defenders) and it still said that, and that was my whole fleet And in case you were wondering that would be 96 squadrens, and I've also had it before where i've had over 400 sqaudrens (late in the game) but it's always with a huge fleet of star destroyers and such, not just the death star) In case you got lost while I was rambling on and on and on and on... Basicly i'm asking what I wrote in caps above, how many fighters do you need to protect your death star (w/ out a planet based sheild) and do the other capital ships in the fleet effect this in any way.
  3. i agree completely, when you get down to it, it's all about the money
  4. just out of curiosity, what type of network do you play on? i have a router, but i can never get it to work with any of the options givin in the game, if you could please go through how you set it up. Thanx
  5. i downloaded it, and let me tell you - getting it up and running is a pain if your using a router, and i don't quite understand some things yet, but i didn't really pay attention to the tutorials, i plan on watching them again, but i'm either to busy or to lazy. But overall i'd say it's pretty fun, there can be alot of players and it's like a huge dogfight sometimes, i like to get in the middle of the action but most of the time it's over by the time i get there
  6. well on the mandalorian subject, anyone who has played KOTOR might remember that the mandalorians were outnumbered by quite a bit during the mandalorian war. And that game took place over 4000 years before the movies, so thay've had MILENIA (is that spelled right, idk) to rebuild. And on the topic about the unkown regions, i don't think they'll have anything come from there, idk why, call it a hunch, i think instead they'll keep coming out with books about the outbound flight project (i know zahn is writing a few, i think one already came out, even though it's only in hardcover right now) But my personal opinion is based on the NJO series name.... the NEW JEDI order, i think it was kind of a way for them to pass the tourch as it wer, to let the next generation have it's own probelms, i think that eventualy the galactic alliance might change and fall (I'm sorry if this is long winded but I've been thinking about this since i read the last NJO book and i've come up with alot of ideas) ---- but if you remember in KOTOR the old jedi (can't remember his name, but he was the one you find on Kashyyk) said that if the sith won, the galaxie would be in a bad position for a few centuries, but eventually would change, i think that they are trying to apply this philosophy in a way. but i'd say that the people who have the best chance of being the new "enemy" are the sith, if you think about it, it makes perfect sense, luke lets any of his jedi just leave, and he trained over 100 successuflly, how many left? Out of his first 12, what was it 2 died (or maybe 1 i can't remember) and Kyp almost fell to the dark side. so there's bound to be someone out there plotting against them. And in conclusion (yeah finaly) there is evidence to support the fact that the EU will be around for a long time.... 1.) Jania and Fel relationship --- there gonna expand on it and you know it 2.) Ben --- HE DID NOTHING DURING THE WHOLE VONG INVASION --- i thought that he would somehow be important to stopping him, but he wasn't and i don't think that they would just come up with him for no reason 3.) Jacen and Danni --- You know that they got something going, expecialy if you read the NJO books after traitor and last of all.... 4.) ....ummm..... i got nothin, it's 1 o'clock and i have a head ache, it's a mirracle i wrote this much, but maybe this got someone thinking...
  7. If you read the books you'll see that chewie and anikan dying are acctualy just part of the change, i think anyone who has read all the books would agree, there's ithor, many jedi die, Eglos A'kla, many temples on yavin are destroyed, CORUSCANT!, the list goes on and on...
  8. Ok, this is a game that I am playing right now. I'm the Imperials and i've changed the settings so that you don't need to research anything and you start your HQ with 5 advanced shipyards, consturction yards, and training faciliteis. Also The imps start with 12 Tie Defender Squadrens and 12 stormtrooper regiments. And as the alliance starts with 12 wookie regiments, and 3 A-wing squadrens, plus 9 b-wings, both sides have the same amount of factories at each hq, but their defenses vary a little (each has 1 gencore lvl2, and a LNR series 2, but the imps have a death star sheild, while the rebs have a KDY-150) Now that that's out of the way i'll get the story started. I started with 2 Imps, and 2 vics. I brought everything to coruscant because the rebs had the 3 planets in the lower right hand of the sesweena sector. Once they got there I scraped all tie squadrens and replaced them with defender squadrens. (i also scrapped any ties placed on other planets for defence) I also brought everyone to coruscant except the diplomats who i set to work on sesweena sector planets. Now anyone who has played this for a long time knows that most of the time it's a bad idea to concentrate your forces like this. i thought i was going to end up regretting it, but as it turns out i did the right thing. By day 200 i had 6 imp2's and all where defending coruscant. that's when it happend. The rebels launched a massive attack on nearly the whole sector. Now it took me about 100 days but by day 300 i had a small fleet of star galleons out in the outer rim and colonized 3 sectors (the 3 closest too sesweena) I won't bore you with the details, but to give you an idea, coruscant was invaded 3 times, Averam close to 16 times, and various other planets where claimed and reclaimed again and again. By Day 1100 i had built my first SSD the Leviathan (yeah it's from KOTOR so what?) I sent it to Endor (one of the 2 major shipyards i had in that sector, in fact the only 2 shipyards i had left) and after day 1500 i decided to send everything and everyone to endor. So i organized, repaired, and with 100 days of the last untis arrival, we were ready, with only 25 matanence points left i launched the fleet, that now consisted of 2 SSD's (i added the Executer) 5 Imp2's, 1 vic2, 2 vics, and an inderector (my orignal 2 Imps died in defense of corusant as well as a vic2) To make a short story shorter, i didnt take much to re-conquer the sector, since i had an inderector and all my fighters where tie defenders, no one ran and no one survived, i destroyed 5 Bulkwark BattleCruisers, and after i finished mopping up i took over the sector with Byss in it (forgot the name) and every planet i have loves me. I own a total of 5 sectors now, and have added 6 new imp2's to my fleet and have not engaged the enemy for over 200 days. I also have over 3000 matanence points, so it's starting to look up, and it only took 1600 days.
  9. well i think that anyone who's reading this gets the point that it's pointless to persue changing the hyperdrive capabilities any further. So i will ask this instead, Evader, you said that the easiest way to change dlls is in rebed, i've never been able to understand how to get started, and i'm pretty good with that stuff (exept for the getting started) so if someone could tell me how i can open the files i need to change things. i'll try looking myself but... i guess you never know, i might get it this time
  10. If you'd look at my post again I said I have all of them from truce of bakura on. except for the YJK series (btw, thanx evader, didn't know that had compilations) so if you look in the front of one of the newer NJO order books from truce of bakura on i have all of them, and again except those in hardcover, which i think Survivors Quest is the only one right now. But there are a total of 51 books that i have. and i was also wondering, in the timeline it has a book called Ylesia, I've looked and looked, and looked. and i haven't found anything, is this a e-book?
  11. Today I finished my collection. I have every star wars novel from truce of bakura and on, except those in hardcover only. That also doesn't include any of the shorter books, such as the young jedi knights series, i was wondering, how is that series anyway? anyway, i was just excited that i finaly got all of the paperbacks.
  12. Now I have no idea on how to edit .dll's or anything, so I was wonder if it's possible to make it so that to move your personel you would have to move them on a ship, and the same for fighters. If anyone knows how to do this please tell me. and maybe if you do know how put it in a .txt format and put it in the download section in case anyone else wants to know how to do stuff like this. O and that reminds me, is there any place that gives like a tutorial on how to edit .dlls? Thanx for any help you guys can give me
  13. ok, i'm thinking about getting this game, i had the 1st, wasen't my most favorite game (that'll always go to starcraft, then rebellion, then Homeworld was most likely 3rd place) anyway, i was wondering, is this game worth it? Thanx for taking time to answer
  14. I have got this book, while it was good, they did take out some stuff, but they include alot of the Yuuzhan Vong (4 I counted plus the Jabitha wich is the fighter made by zenoma sekot for anikan. just incase u didn't know), but they also include some other ships that I was really exited about, for example the K-wing, and the Jade Shadow. It also has a few ships from episode 1 and alot from episode 2. and in the back it has a list of other vehicles and vessles that don't take up a page. the pictures that evader99 posted are acctualy the replacement for the blueprints. and with each ship there is at least one quote about the ship. Overall i'd have to say that it's worth the money
