  1. To answer your question, my machine is a little bit older. It is a Dell XPS M1530, and originally it was loaded with Windows Vista, and came with a x64 based processor (Intel Core 2 Duo). I upgraded from Vista to Windows 8, which particular copy was a 32bit operating system. It actually worked out in the end. I tried the patch recommendation a few more times, but it wasnt producing good results. So I decided to try installing a VM (I picked Oracle), which I have never done, and I actually used my original Vista copy to create one. Rebellion worked great after copying one small file, and Im off to fight more galactic battles!
  2. Hey guys, Im new to the site but enjoyed many years of Rebellion before. Im trying to get my copy of Rebellion to work on my Windows 8 32bit x64 system. I went through all the steps that have been documented on here for installing it on a Windows 7 system, to include copying the contents of the Rebellion folder from the CD, copying the ddl file and merging the register file from the "Reb_Refresh..." zip file, and all the other steps listed in the instructions. I launched the game and YES, it seemed to work. I got all the way to the Shuttle Startup scene, and thats where I noticed it, all the icons are upsides down. I select my options (Difficulty/type/side) and the game launches but still with every single icon upside down. Even after the intro from C3PO (cant skip btw) even the character sheets/planet details/contruction queues/EVERYTHING is upsides down and backwards. This makes it extremely difficult not only to organize, but play at all! It, eventually crashed after about 50 turns. Has anyone ever run into this problem? Thanks! Peter
