  1. Awesome! I'd say I can't wait, but I've been following this mod since .75 (I think that was the version), so that would be a lie. The factions you've already implemented are just amazing, so any upgrades are to be considered a bonus. Thanks for the info and may the Force be with you!
  2. First off, I feel I must say I simply love this mod, even if that is a cliche. I must however request that any suggestions for balancing factions by weakening ships be denied. Star Wars has balance in other ways. The Empire was practically MADE to be a late-game juggernaut, steamrolling other factions with hordes of SD's and multiple SSD's. The Rebellion on the other hand is perfectly suited to early strikes, the Republic is about halfway between the two, and the CIS I confess I haven't played yet. Now, bigger and more powerful ships cost more money. This is a common and sensible rule. Why try to balance things out by making those ships pathetic (EAW, anyone?) even after all the effort required simply to field them? Now, with that aside I must make my request here as I couldn't live with myself if I didn't try. Now, I checked all the posts here and can't find one mention of the Eclipse SSD either as a suggestion or otherwise in the forums. Now I understand the concept of balance, but I personally would love to see that ship in-game. There's a slot open in the Imperial Capital Ships section, and it's starting to get to me For that matter, aren't there slots open (just one or two, perhaps, but they do exist) in the Cruisers section to which at least one of the star destroyer command variants could be moved, thus opening slots for more ships of a size akin to the Executor? Obviously the Eclipse is possible: There's already a superlaser ability and the research fits at the end of the Imperial tech tree ( I checked). I would add the ship myself as I have all the necessary resources, but simply put I fail at modding. Now, barring the Eclipse as a possibility for the Galactic Empire faction, perhaps it could be included as an Imperial Remnant ship (assuming the addition of said faction)? I've looked into it and there are plenty of ships from that era that can be used for the other roles. Now, I know this would be a pretty decent amount of work- having gotten about 80% of the way to successfully implementing the ship (main problems were it flew sideways and the texture didn't work, even though it was made for that model by a dedicated modder), but I would greatly appreciate it. Frankly I was always irritated to have to download a mod to play the Eclipse in EaW, and then it was always massively underpowered. Which brings me to my last point. The Eclipse is placed at a rather silly size (from my point of view) in most cases, and I just want to say my piece on that too (althought I'm sure you're getting sick of reading this essay ). I subscribe to the point of view that the Emperor's personal flagship would be at least twice the size of the Executor in ALL aspects, including length. Thus I submit a mean length of 35 km for it. It was described as being ten miles, yes, but I don't think the author writing that line understood the size of the other SSD's quite as well as he might have, and if memory serves the Eclipse is also twice the length of the Executor as depicted in Forces of Corruption, which is I should think considered canonical at least from a scaling aspect (the storyline perhaps not so much). Lastly I want to apologize in advance if I am being overly demanding of an amazing team of modders and testers, that I understand I may be lecturing (working on that, and I apologize again: this is all merely my opinion and I willingly concede that there are always people who know more about Star Wars than I do, for which I salute them), and that I am overjoyed to be able to play Star Wars space battles the way they always ought to be: Huge and totally awesome.
