Did your other mods add folders to the data directory, or did they simply add .big files? Also, did you create a new profile? (I know that question has been asked to death).

I have several older versions, and pirates, and HW rehash and haven't noticed any unusual bugs.
  3. That may be the case, but I was going to use the old hods from the .45 incremental versions. Since the oldships.big havent been reworked too much, I was guessing it might work. I know the few ships you've completely remade would have to have the shields remade from scratch (something I don't know how to do).
  4. I've been looking at the sub files and the shp files, and was wondering if it would work if I do some copy-paste work from the older versions to add shields to the ships in oldships.big? If so, It would be a simple (but long) task to add them back to their respective ships.
  5. Ok, it seems nobody has it. Does anybody at least know what the version number is for the last release that contained ships with shields?
  6. I've noticed that some of the destroyers, when ordered to attack another destroyer or cruiser, will fly over to the maximum range their front guns allow, and just sit there firing a few guns. Once manually ordered to approach the target, the additional guns will engage. For ships like the Mon Cal designs, this is especially noticable as the weapons are more spread out than on the ISDs, who have their longest ranged weapons mounted closer to the rear. *edit* also, the k wing's rockets dont do any damage, and it never uses space bombs. BTW, all bugs are in .60 test release.
  7. I've got a radeon X550 256 MB card, I don't remember the vendor. [rant] It's not very high end, I'm using it as a temporary card until I can afford something better, after my previous Radeon X1800 XTX burned out, and the (2!) Nvidia 7800's before that both had memory errors. This happened last summer when I was building my computer, you think the graphics card manufacturers would have higher quality control for their high end, $500 usd+ cards. The $90 card I'm using now has given me absolutely zero problems, go figure. [/rant] *edit* I don't see an option for Dynamic LOD, I have shadows off, and dynamic lighting on low, and geometry scaling on in the video options menu, and NLIPS off in the gameplay menu. *another edit* a feature I would like to see is the ability to repair ion damage, I like to use ion platforms to zap ships, then capture them. Sometimes they never come back online.
  8. I like the idea of era research, howerver, could you also keep class research as well? Such as: destroyer designs, frigate designs, etc. Still more streamlined than the old system with all the tech research, but allows for slower, deliberate games that advance from fighter swarms to corvette/frigate skirmishes to big guns duking it out at the end (if the battle last that long). For me, at least, that is one of the qualities that made warlords so fun to play. Having all ships from the start takes away the buildup and variety, as the ai will use the best ships in its fleet, forcing you to do the same.
  9. I'm actually getting lower framrates with the newer versions, the shipdeath explosions especially slow my game to a crawl. And then there's the torpedo sphere....how many torps does it shoot, for the record?

(reply to Skyblazer) I've noticed that it crashes whenever I have an Imperial ai oppenent in the offline only mode. Have you tried switching your opponent? Also, the ships still don't like to attack the reinforcements buoys. I'm currently avoiding the problem by ramming them with large ships. *another edit* Finally, I feel fighter/bombers and bombers are a bit too powerfull. They no longer need to reload, and that coupled with the removal of shields means that it takes relatively few squadrons to down capships. I haven't noticed the "docking bug" in this release, and would love to see reloading return. I don't think fighters in Star Wars should be able to operate without fleet support, with the exeception of hit and run precision raids. *last edit* Of course by capships I mean frigates and low end destroyers, the really big ones either regenerate from the initial salvo or ignore them.
  11. I know that .45 is obsolete, especially with the release of oldships.big, but I simply prefer the .45 gameplay to the .5 onward changes. I've downloaded .45, that was easy enough. What I cannot find, and would like to have, is the latest incremental beta patch for .45 that were downloaded via the chat console. If anyone still has those files, I would greatly appreciate it if they could send them to me, or upload them.
