  1. Hey Lavo, would you mind deleting the set of old .ogg music files from the sound folder? Aside from the new set introduced with Sounds 3.0, none of the 1.0 or 2.0 original music files are used anymore; all new music files have a "SoGE2 -" prefix, followed by TPM, AOTC, ROTS, ANH, ESB, ROTJ, or SWTFOS before the track title. Thanks!
  2. This is mainly directed to Lavo and Warb, due to the nature of the work they do for this mod. However, if any others out there in the ether want to contribute, go for it. I have alway been curious as to what tools and programs you guys use to do the work you all do, primarily concerning models, skinning, and rigging them for ingame usage. I, as well as a number of the people to show from time to time here, are familiar with the EaW process of rigging and such, modeling notwithstanding; is it not much different when it comes to SoaSE, or is it another process entirely? All this info is available in one form or another of the SoaSE forums, but since you guys are, by and large, pros at what you do, why not go to the pros and ask them? So, if you guys would be so kind as to list the programs you use to work your magic and some pertinent tips towards using them successfully, I know I would certainly appreciate it. Here're my general-purpose tools: Entity editing: Notepad++ (Props to Lavo for this recommendation) Graphic design and editing: Paint.NET
  3. Thanks! Yes, Warleader does sound more Vong-ish. Good catch!
  4. Any ideas on the CIS ranks? I found some small instances of rank insignias here and there, but nothing concrete. Here they are: Random (Army) officers: http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20061103155158/starwars/images/0/05/CIS_officer_bald.JPG http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:CIS_officer.JPG http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110711172660/starwars/images/9/97/CIS_officer.JPG Admiral: http://static4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110827115247/starwars/images/1/13/Admiral_Kirst.jpg Captain: http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110827131503/starwars/images/b/b2/Captain_starcrusher.jpg Captain (likely Army): http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110827122323/starwars/images/3/33/Captain_Trask.jpg http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110514052660/starwars/images/a/ad/Vulpus.JPG Commander (I'm thinking perhaps Navy; need to confirm this): http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110514052660/starwars/images/a/ad/Vulpus.JPG I'm assuming it's somewhat similar to the Imperial/Republic ranking system, only with some discs involved and the usage of white as well as blue, red, and perhaps gold in the rank plaques. It seems code cylinders are there as well... Evaders: would you mind if we made use of the forum rank pics ingame? They're quite nice, and if they translate well (as in, they're large enough), they'll be perfect!
  5. I assumed that the discrepancy was due to a naval reorganization post-DoaNO. I know that the Sector Army system was reorganized as a platform for the Moffs and Grand Moffs, so a change in the placement of Admirals and such in the naval hierarchy may have shifted as well into the Empire's system. Here's the page I used for reference: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_navy#Clone_Wars Plus the Clone Wars Campaign Guide from Wizards of the Coast's SW RPG, which is what the page utilized. I like the different ranks. Each faction is different; why not ranks?
  6. That works. :v Looking forward to the crystal planet glow. EDIT: BTW, here’s a working rank system for the logistic research buttons; tell me what you think:
  7. The name's Kressh. Ludo Kressh, BTW.
  8. I'm around 90% done with the planet icons and hud pictures. Still trying to get to the planets unavailable in the planet sampling map. Overall, the appearance is much improved and less cluttered with icons far smaller than current official set. Should be done by Friday or so due to a busy week prior to returning full time to university. How're things with the music mod?
  9. I like some of them as well (have them in iTunes), but yeah, they'd stick out a bit. Imperial March Rage would be a cool Imperial win track, actually... I like what you did with the crystal planet, Lavo. However, the green glow is a bit too green, I think. Any way to lighten it a shade or two? It must be like walking around in a green neon tube when planetside. xD
  10. Oh foo. I wanted a Junk planet. Why can't we have nice things, Lavo? Anywho, I come bearing most bestest news, comrade: the music mod is complete! Give it a look and listen, and then let me know what you think! http://speedy.sh/2K7CY/Sounds-of-a-Galactic-Empire-3.0.rar Also, a small color mod changing the colors of the antimatter and shield health bars in the HUD and infoboxes to canon colors, as well as some of the loading bars: http://speedy.sh/XdWaT/Colors.rar Mind the README in the music mod. The disclaimer made me feel better in the event of a worst-case scenario.
  11. They look good for a first go. Can't wait to see the rusty/junk planet. Always liked me a Raxus Prime-ish planet, or at least the looks of it. BTW, any particular SW tracks you want included? I know Chim wanted Battle of the Heroes in at some point, but that was a while ago. This of course goes out to Evaders and Warb as well.
  12. Very cool! I just finished up making mixes for the two primary eras, Clone Wars and GCW. Will be transferring them over to my PC and sorting the current .oggs to see what I already have and what I do not. Editing and conversion will follow soon after, and then implementation.
  13. I see. Okay, I'll look into it. Great to hear about the black holes. I shall experiment then, once I get GalaxyForge working. For some reason, my edited maps don't register ingame as selectable... As far as an industrial texture goes, Eriadu is an excellent choice if you have it. Check out the list I posted a few pages back for some ideas.
  14. You got it, boss, though I'm a bit lost on what you mean by edit the entity files. The textures work as they are, slapped in. You're gonna have to educate me on some of the finer points lost to me here. Too bad about the black hole/invisible star thing, though I do hear and understand your point. I mean, couldn't it simply be an option, as with the other stars (yellow, red, blue, green, etc.)? No need for an full phase-out of the current star set, but the option of having a black hole as the map anchor for map makers would be kinda cool I think. It's hard to make multi-sector maps when you have a huge sun shining there. And yes, Adumar would be a great clean industrial planet or shipyard. I can't say about the standard industrial; when I think of one, I think of Eriadu or some other ecologically-ruined world. That is, unless you're going to give the current industrial texture to the polluted planet, which would be okay in my book. My two point four-nine cents. Hehe. I see what you did there.
