  1. well this topic has gone to hell, it is way off subject, it is just an argument now, and none of you have ever studied politics except for what you have heard at school, and school is an unreliable source that covers up things of the real world. you guys should all just shut your mouths and go back to arguing about star wars because that is all any of ya'll know anythin of
  2. pshhh.....lamo, I doubt these movies will come out, and if by chance they do they will probably be about as good as the Star Wars christmas special.
  3. communism is a stupid form of government that doesn't work, Democracy can easily work in even the smallest of countries (capatalism is better, but that a lot of times will only work in large countries)
  4. The war was a good Idea, I support the war effort entirely, just because we didn't find any WMD's doesn't mean that it was pointless, we have done loads for the iraqi people * Over 400,000 kids have up-to-date immunizations. * School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war. * Over 1,500 schools have been renovated and rid of the weapons stored there so education can occur. * The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off-loaded from ships faster. * The country had its first 2 billion barrel export of oil in August. * Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water for the first time ever in Iraq. * The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war. * 100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed, compared to 35% before the war. * Elections are taking place in every major city, and city councils are in place. * Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city. * Over 60,000 police are patrolling the streets. * Over 100,000 Iraqi civil defense police are securing the country. * Over 80,000 Iraqi soldiers are patrolling the streets side by side with US soldiers. * Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time ever. * Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs. * An interim constitution has been signed. * Girls are allowed to attend school. * Textbooks that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years. Don't believe for one second that these people do not want us there. I have met many, many people from Iraq that want us there, and in a bad way. They say they will never see the freedoms we talk about but they hope their children will. We are doing a good job in Iraq and I challenge anyone, anywhere to dispute me on these facts Since President Bush declared an end to major combat on May 1... .. the first battalion of the new Iraqi Army has graduated and is on active duty. .. over 60,000 Iraqis now provide security to their fellow citizens. .. nearly all of Iraq's 400 courts are functioning. .. the Iraqi judiciary is fully independent. .. on Monday, October 6 power generation hit 4,518 megawatts - exceeding the prewar average. .. all 22 universities and 43 technical institutes and colleges are open, as are nearly all primary and secondary schools. .. by October 1, Coalition forces had rehab-ed over 1,500 schools - 500 more than scheduled. .. teachers earn from 12 to 25 times their former salaries. .. all 240 hospitals and more than 1200 clinics are open. .. doctors salaries are at least eight times what they were under Saddam. .. pharmaceutical distribution has gone from essentially nothing to 700 tons in May to a current total of 12,000 tons. .. the Coalition has helped administer over 22 million vaccination doses to Iraq's children. .. a Coalition program has cleared over 14,000 kilometers of Iraq's 27,000 kilometers of weed-choked canals which now irrigate tens of thousands of farms. This project has created jobs for more than 100,000 Iraqi men and women. .. we have restored over three-quarters of prewar telephone services and over two-thirds of the potable water production. .. there are 4,900 full-service telephone connections. We expect 50,000 by year-end. .. the wheels of commerce are turning. From bicycles to satellite dishes to cars and trucks, businesses are coming to life in all major cities and towns. .. 95 percent of all prewar bank customers have service and first-time customers are opening accounts daily. .. Iraqi banks are making loans to finance businesses. .. the central bank is fully independent. .. Iraq has one of the worlds most growth-oriented investment and banking laws. .. Iraq has a single, unified currency for the first time in 15 years. .. satellite TV dishes are legal. .. foreign journalists aren't on 10-day visas paying mandatory and extortionate fees to the Ministry of Information for minders and other government spies. .. there is no Ministry of Information. .. there are more than 170 newspapers. .. you can buy satellite dishes on what seems like every street corner. .. foreign journalists (and everyone else) are free to come and go. .. a nation that had not one single element - legislative, judicial or executive - of a representative government, now does. ... in Baghdad alone residents have selected 88 advisory councils. Baghdad's first democratic transfer of power in 35 years happened when the city council elected its new chairman. .. today in Iraq chambers of commerce, business, school and professional organizations are electing their leaders all over the country. .. 25 ministers, selected by the most representative governing body in Iraq's history, run the day-to-day business of government. .. the Iraqi government regularly participates in international events. Since July the Iraqi government has been represented in over two dozen international meetings, including those of the UN General Assembly, the Arab League, the World Bank and IMF and, today, the Islamic Conference Summit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today announced that it is reopening over 30 Iraqi embassies around the world. .. Shia religious festivals that were all but banned, aren't. .. for the first time in 35 years, in Karbala thousands of Shiites celebrate the pilgrimage of the 12th Imam. .. the Coalition has completed over 13,000 reconstruction projects, large and small, as part of a strategic plan for the reconstruction of Iraq. .. Uday and Queasy are dead - and no longer feeding innocent Iraqis to the zoo lions, raping the young daughters of local leaders to force cooperation, torturing Iraq's soccer players for losing games, or murdering critics. .. children aren't imprisoned or murdered when their parents disagree with the government. .. political opponents aren't imprisoned, tortured, executed, maimed, or are forced to watch their families die for disagreeing with Saddam. .. millions of longsuffering Iraqis no longer live in perpetual terror. .. Saudis will hold municipal elections. .. Qatar is reforming education to give more choices to parents. .. Jordan is accelerating market economic reforms. .. the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded for the first time to an Iranian — a Muslim woman who speaks out with courage for human rights, for democracy and for peace. .. Saddam is gone. .. Iraq is free. .. President Bush has not faltered or failed. .. Yet, little or none of this information has been published by the Press corps that prides itself on bring you all the news that's important. Iraq under US lead control has come further in six months than Germany did in seven years or Japan did in nine years following WWII. Military deaths from fanatic Nazi's, and Japanese numbered in the thousands and continued for over three years after WWII victory was declared. It took the US over four months to clear away the twin tower debris, let alone attempt to build something else in its place. Now, take into account that almost every Democrat leader in the House and Senate has fought President Bush on every aspect of his handling of this country's war and the post-war reconstruction; and that they continue to claim on a daily basis on national TV that this conflict has been a failure. Taking everything into consideration, even the unfortunate loss of our sons and daughters in this conflict, do you think anyone else in the world could have accomplished as much as the United States and the Bush administration in so short a period of time? The media hides all this from us, why? because the Bush hating and democratic party would rather see the world go to hell then lose their power The war in Iraq is a success, don't believe the useless media
  5. Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo. lol
  6. well I support Pres. Bush, he is a good pres, he knows what he is doing and this country in being lead better then anyone else could do it
  7. Russia won't attack, they are way to economically dependent on America and America's allies, Russia has a very unstable economy, the peasants wouldn't put up with a war, they are still trying to regain an economy after the cold war/USSR, Russia isn't a threat, China isn't either, they also rely to heavily on our Economy, now a days economy plays a huge part in war, Korea will probably eventually go to war with us, but it will be a short war with relatively few deaths, like I already said, the starving citizens will finally see the madness of their leaders and revolt, N. Korea has no chance in a war, there economy would crumble apart even more then it already has.
  8. I agree, they need to kill off characters in normal ways, not some extravagant event, Chewie's death was lame and needs to be redone
  9. we won't go to war with Russia or China, maybe N.Korea, but not Russia or China, Russia's economy is to weak at the moment due to government issues, they can't afford a military. and China is way to close to the US in Economy, going to war with them would ruin our economy and their economy, it would end up being a lose for both sides, we are to dependent on each other. N.Korea isn't much of a threat, it would be a short war, the people are to starved and would revolt at the start of a war, so I am not worried at all about those 3 countries, I am personally worried about Iran, we have a much better chance at war with Iran then any of those other countries
  10. lol, hey Guys! this is great! and it is so true!!!! read it! The Ant and the Grasshopper Fable or Future fact? The Ant and the Grasshopper *OLD VERSION*: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold. MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself! ***************************************************** *MODERN VERSION:* The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving. CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so? Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green." Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake. Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share. Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government. Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients. The ant loses the case. The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
  11. well for one thing only the real die hard star wars fans read the books, so those people (including me) who haven't read the books talk about how great he is not because he died, but because he had a cool hair style! duh! get with the program! well it is a lame death, I have never personally read it, but I have heard of it and how he was killed by a moon dropping on his head....that is the lamest way to die ever! They could have killed him off thousands of other ways! but they had to pick the dumb way. Being shot by a third death star would have been cooler! and more dramatic!
  12. lol, yup! that is the dumbest of all the books! that is not physically possible...and the book just makes me laugh!
  13. what? opposite the ocean? how can something be opposite of the ocean, you live on an island, you are surrounded by water, how can you be opposite the ocean? that makes no sense.....what is the opposite of water? huh? CO2? so your mountains are made of carbon dioxcide? what?
