Why can't you assault the planet? Even with shields, a planet can still be assaulted. If you get enough wookie regiments, you should be able to take Coruscant; if not the first time, then after continual attacks. I have exactly the same problem. My fleet is comprised of the following: 2 Bulwarks 5 Mon Cals 6 Nebulon-Bs 2 CC-9600s 10 Corvettes 10 Gunships 5 Escort Carriers 4 Bulk Cruisers 4 Dreadnaughts 2 Liberators 10 Medium Transports 4 Bulk Transports 50 Wookie Regiments 50 X-Wings 10 B-Wings Coruscant is defended with the following: 6 Imperial Mk. II Star Destroyers 4 Imperial Mk. I Star Destroyers 3 Victory Star Destroyers 3 Escort Carriers 4 Assault Transports 1 SSD 2 Interdictor Cruisers 1 Death Star (Don't ask me why it isn't out there blowing up my planets, cause I don't honestly know.) 8 Lancer Frigates 20 Tie Fighters 20 Tie Interceptors 15 Tie Defenders 20 Dark Trooper Regiments 10 Stormtrooper Regiments 15 Army Regiments 7 Fleet Regiments Darth Vader Emperor Palpatine Admiral Thrawn (Aboard SSD) General Veers Even with all that I have, I have not been able to seize Coruscant.
