  1. 3 Death Stars in the same fleet..nice.
  2. Well, I will complain if I feel that the control set up sucks. As I said before, for a first-person shooter game I shouldnt have to go out and BUY a whole other control system (like a joystick) and plug it in. If the game in question was originally a simulator game such as Flight Simulator or Mechwarrior then thats a different story. The point being though that this game markets itself as a first-person shooter game with squad combat and tactics etc...yet if you want to use all of the cool vehicles and actually fly them / operate them in a proficient manner you need a fricking joystick. Anyway, on a whole whenever I played Battlefield 2 as you pointed out the server browsing sucks and for whatever reason there is a ton of lag associated with large maps with a large number of people playing.
  3. Well, I tried flying a heli with my mouse in the demo and that didnt work very well. Same thing with a jet. I dont know how people could turn as fast and sharp as they did without a joystick. At any rate, most people I know who have the game said they like it better with a joystick for flying.
  4. Yeah, even then China...their future is not as bright as everyone has been hyping. China was once this huge magnet for cheaper labor for manufacturing centers to be set up. Guess what, the Chinese government has been tightening the environmental laws as well as raising the minimum wage. The effect this has had wont be quite noticeable yet but a lot of manufacturers which were originally planning on expanding operations in China are now considering moving to a country which has cheaper wage rates like Vietnam. As for the source, its not one I found online but I read it in the Wall Street Journal a few months ago. China's economy will in my opinion slow down very drastically in the next few years. One of the prime tenets of economic success is that workers tend to demand higher wages and better working conditions. Also, governments and the people (citizens) also want better environmental protection. The problem is that the Chinese government was so anxious to get people to invest there for business that they didnt realize that a lot of their growth cannot be sustained indefinitely. Why does this happen? The bottom-line. Bottom-line is a term used in accounting, it means profits or losses. A company that is assembling shoes does NOT WANT to pay say 3 dollars an hr to a worker if they could get the same shoe assembled for maybe 1 dollar an hr in a country where the wage rate is lower. Its just common business sense, the management wants to increase profits and lower the cost of production. One thing that irks me is how a lot of people keep referring to the US economy as though it was still a manufacturing economy. It isnt. The US economy now is primarily a service economy. More money is generated by service businesses than by manufacturing businesses.
  5. You need to use the program known as RebEd which is located on this site in the downloads section.
  6. The funny thing is, some of that so-called 'organic' food still uses pesticides and other chemicals.
  7. I was gonna say I played the demo as well. The game itself is cool but I do agree that it weighs way way way too much towards the use of vehicles. Specifically the heavy vehicles. I have had players camp the vehicle spawning points waiting for a tank to players using jets to bomb the spawn points to kill people respawning. I realize that yes its part of the game, but the whole point of a game is for it to be FUN. If a game is not fun then it stops being a game and becomes WORK. For me Battlefield 2 started becoming work and I dont want to 'work' when I am having or rather trying to have fun. My other pet peeve with this game (at least from what I had seen in the demo) is that if you really want to use an air vehicle (helicopter/jet) you really need a joystick. For me its pretty sad for a first-person shooter game for you to have to hop in this vehicle and then break out with a different controlling mechanism other than my mouse. I guess what I mean is that if I wanted to fly planes with a joystick I would play a flight simulator game, not a first person shooter. For a first person shooter game I want to be able to use just about anything with my keyboard and mouse. I should not have to go out and get a joystick for such a game, unless its a flight simulator game.
  8. Roman themes from the Rome Total War game.
  9. I read that book too. It sounds very much like the Black Fleet Crisis where Luke become a wimp and didnt want to use his Force powers or something.
  10. Hahaahahahaha. That post made me laugh and yes I agree. Despite my whining about the ewoks, they were far more tolerable than most of what the prequels had. As for some of the other points people mentioned. The clones were NOT inherently evil. Your trying to blame someone/some people for something that they cannot control. The Order 66 that Palpatine issues is obviously a command that was buried in the psyche of the clones. We actually see onscreen how the clones got along with their Jedi commanders. One of them, forgot his name, even gave Obi Wan back his lightsaber. The thing is though is that from the time they were 'born' they were conditioned. Part of the conditioning as we saw was this Order 66 command. At that moment in the movie we now understand WHY they used clones. Had it have been regular conscripts they could have balked at the order. The clones though could not. They had to obey the order. Also, if the clones were 'evil' then the Jedi should have detected that. The fact they did not and fought with the clones for over 4 yrs leading them in battles and so on indicates a certain amount of trust. At the end of RoTS it is clear what the Clone Wars was all about. It was nothing more than a way for Palpatine to do two things. The first one was for him to gain power legitimately. The second thing was for him to have the Jedi destroyed. He masterfully accomplished those two goals. The Clone Wars was a conflict that in the SW had not taken place in thousands of years. The sad thing is, it was so destructive YET its only purpose was a way for Palpatine to whittle down the numbers of the Jedi. With the end of the war more or less in sight that was when Palpatine issued the infamous Order 66 which eliminated MOST of the Jedi. Obviously not all Jedi were with clones or in battles at the time but it did effectively help the Emperor to get rid of the most powerful. The Clone overall are actually tragic in the sense that their sole purpose in life is to fight. They were genetically engineered to obey and for them to fight to the death.
  11. Yeah that fleet is ridiculous. Hopefully you had a fast computer to run all of that. However, a battle at that scale would be a LOT OF FUN at least I think so anyway. Hehe.
  12. The one woman, forgot her name but the one that was helping out the Stargate team..she was very hot.
  13. It could be that Palpatine doesnt need a lightsaber. I mean really who can get him now? After Yoda failed to kill him in RoTS no one can touch him now. Security will be too tight and its impossible. Also, I could counter and say that Palpatine has progressed beyond the need to have a lightsaber. Palpatine over the next 20 some odd yrs has undoubtedly expanded his knowledge of the Force. We already know from canon novel source (the ROTJ novel) that Palpatine could use battle meditation subconsciously to drive the Imperial military. At any rate, I am inclined to not bother arguing this point anymore. As I said before, its up to our interpretation. What you see in the movie is different than what I see.
  14. I agree with Darth Tex. I think many of you are simply comparing the Prequels and the Originals without using some logic. When Lucas made those Originals HE COULDNT DO ALL OF THAT FLIPPING CRAP we see a lot of the Jedi doing. It was impossible. He didnt have the budget. Also many of you seem to think that being fast like that and flashy is a good thing. A true master, be it in Martial Arts or Sword fighting knows that one should dispatch his opponent with as minimal effort as possible. To conserve energy and so on. I will not buy into the idea that Obi Wan and the others 'got weaker' as time went on. That doesnt make any sense. If we followed that logic was Dooku then so powerful despite him being old? To be perfectly blunt, its a problem Lucas created with inconsistencies and there wont be much of a way to resolve unless we use what we, 'ourselves', think of the movies. As for me, I believe they got more powerful as time went on and dropped the need for all of those flashy moves because they didnt have to use them anymore. As I said before, Anakin in AOTC was literally using the Force against Dooku to slow him down. Many people said that Vader was weaker in the Originals..I somehow fail to see how. He choked Ozzel from a very long distance away, remember he did via hologram/comm display. Vader could have been KILOMETERS away. In ESB he rips large devices off of walls and throws them at Luke. In ROTS all he did after being in the suit was smash what appeared mostly hollow stuff in. Believe me, its not hard to smash hollow stuff in. Ripping devices that were mounted into a wall as we saw in ESB is much harder. Did anyone notice that Vader fought with one hand usually? I have already explained to most of you that he WAS NOT TRYING to kill Luke. He wanted to turn Luke. If Vader had gotten so weak after being put in the suit why didnt the Emperor get a new apprentice? We know from canon sources that he has Hands and other force trained operatives. The reason is simple, even with his suit on, Vader is still the most powerful Jedi.
