  1. This worked for me: Download the "Rebellion Refreshed and Reloaded Ultimate Package (x86/x64)" here, and the Reloaded TC. Unzip the package (it has all the "extra" files you'll need), and use it to complete the instructions below: x64 Users - Open the Star Wars Rebellion cd in explorer. - Copy everything from D:\Rebellion to C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion - Right-Click on the file Rebellion_x64.reg and select the merge option. - Download the TC beta and follow the directions included in README. - Rename C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion to C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Reloaded. - Move C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Reloaded to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\star Wars Reloaded. - Right-Click on the file Reloaded_x64.reg and select the merge option. - Delete REBEXE.EXE from C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Reloaded - Copy RELOADED.EXE to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Reloaded - (Vista users only) Copy the d3drm.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Reloaded - Manually create a new desktop shortcut pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Reloaded\RELOADED.EXE - Open the Star Wars Rebellion cd in explorer. - Copy everything from D:\Rebellion to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion - Copy REBEXE.EXE to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion, Click Yes to replace. - (Vista users only) Copy the d3drm.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion - Create a Rebellion desktop shortcut to C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion\REBEXE.EXE - Take a deep breathe, make a choice, click either Rebellion or Reloaded shortcut and relax The Reloaded game didn't work for me, but it was likely my mistake with RebEd or something - I couldn't get it installed right. I ended up just deleting the "Reloaded" folder, and vanilla Rebellion works just fine! Also, make sure you add a folder called "Savegame" in your Rebellion folder - that'll let you save your games.
  2. Market research. Honestly, I'm curious as to how often it is used in actual game development. I'm not saying that it's obviously lacking - and certainly not in this game - it just seems like a lot of games have "features" in them that make me wonder, "where did THAT come from?" I haven't yet played a game that felt completely "right" to me. Maybe I'm just one weirdo out there, but I wonder sometimes if more research was involved in gaming development if a game would be made that could blow my socks off. Anyways, this is a great idea. You'd have to get some crazy response numbers to make it remotely statistically significant, but it's possible . . .
  3. I've had similar issues with the planetary map. Many a' time I've just given up looking for them and just quit. It's kinda odd.
  4. If that shortcut doesn't work, change it to: "D:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod HW2SWmod-beta-v0.26-TEST.big -luatrace 'course, change the path if it's not the same, and remember the quotes.
  5. Hmmm . . . not here. Built about everything, and haven't had a crash yet. Prolly jes' jinxed myself, though . . .
  6. I'd say picture it this way: In Rebellion, this would be the equivalent feature as the battles in space. There aren't hero's or commanders, it's just ships. Ships in high detail: the ISD has 7500 poly's with goblins. Check the Relic Forum for the screenshots of the new ISD eville just made! Right now it is just a multiplayer/skirmish build, but there will probably be a single player (hero's included) later on. Weapons fire in salvo's with authentic sound, accuracy, and range. Eville has put a lot of effort into making the mod as accurate to the Star Wars canon as possible. It is extremely impressive; I bought Homeworld 2 just to play this mod, and it is definitely worth it!
  7. Umm, this is actually something I was interested in . . . could you elaborate for me? How do I get the music files out so I can change the extension to .wav?
  8. The Homeworld 2 mod is incredible. It's run by evillejedi, who does great work. The most recent page of the Relic forums that discusses the mod is http://forums.relicnews.com/showthread.php?t=21378&page=106&pp=15 <--- right there. The main site for the mod is http://www.swrebellion.net/evillejedi/ <--- here. Not the purtiest, but the screenshots on it are amazing! Go check it out!
  9. K, so I know the engine makes this well nigh impossible, but I thought I'd mention it just because . . . I was just thinking how nice it would be to be able to roll your capships to bring more guns to bear. And if (if, if, if, I know you were going to work on this, but I'm not sure how in-depth you were planning to go) you did sectioned shielding, it would help that, too. Just some wistful thinking, since you're already doing some cool stuff with what you've got. PS. Are you still planning on using the tractor beam? PPS. So someone (maybe Taiidan Republic Mod guys?) mentioned making names for ships . . . frivilous but cool? Way cool.
  10. K, so I played again to find those bugs I forgot. I only found two. One is that the Vanguard textures are all off at times. The cockpit ends up on the solar arrays, and it looks really funny. Give it some time, and the textures actually fix themselves. I'm assuming this is similar to the shading problem? Also, with transports, corellian craft, etc, there is a wierd "damage halo" that goes around them like a collar on a dog. I looks like the same damage thingy that gets put on the larger ships when they're hit, but the smaller craft can't have them or something like that. Neither of these are really important, but they're all I noticed.
  11. I could get maybe one flight into the refinery ship, but any others in the group would just get hung up in front of the hangar. I didn't get any to fly into a Vic or an Impstar. Same with the MC's, actually . . . I was confused about the platforms, too, but forgot to mention it. There's a launch dealy for the platforms and yards, but no way to dock with them. Also, can miners dock with any of the platforms or yards? I wasn't sure about that. If not, it'd be awful to lose a refinery ship! Interesting Note: The shading problems would go away for a couple of minutes if I looked straight down and spun around (the camera, that is . . .). So how does one get hold of Relic for help on engine glows, dockpaths, shading, etc?
  12. Same problems here with the harvesting, and fighters and bombers won't dock most of the time.
