    SWRDE

Hi. I was wondering if anyone had a working link to SWRDE? Working on Windows 7, and RebEd is doing its non-compatibility thing. Any help acquiring this little gem would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Alright. Got the game working now. Thanks! However, when I attempt to do anything in RebEd, I receive an error message: http://i36.tinypic.com/2pzlf1c.jpg It will show this with the corresponding .dat file whenever I click on a button in RebEd. Does the workaround for Rebellion just negate RebEd's existence altogether, or did I wind up botching something else? Thanks again to all the people who actually know what they're doing. So many people would be lost without you.
  3. I'm rather torn on getting Windows 7 Pro for XP mode, so I'm trying this method out. I get the game started, and receive a black screen and this message: PathName is Unknown to Video Manager MDATA.000 Then the same thing with MDATA.001. THEN it goes to the launch screen, and I select either side, and go. Then it opens up the galaxy map, does the same message with MDATA.003, and crashes. Seeing as I'm the only one who has posted something of the such, I must have bollocksed it up hardcore. Any suggestions?

    Daala card

I've made a Daala card with that image recently. The attributes are a little bit overdone, but that's what RebEd's for! I'll submit it if you'd like.
  5. Everything's been updated recently. And it's all worked fine through updates and everything. It just decided, apparently, to stop working. I copied the game's data onto a CD-R disc, thinking maybe the CD just finally burned itself out. No dice there, either. Looks like I'm going to have to just buy a power supply for my old CPU and try to work that back into effectiveness somehow. Windows ME...shiver. Thanks for the attempts at help, though. It's probably all just some stoopid mistake I made while fiddling around with the DLL entries or something. Of course, then, it would've worked after I uninstalled it and reinstalled it completely...hmm...
  6. Thanks. I'm sure it's just a monitor flaw. I demagnetized it and all that just now, too. Going to try again. Could also be the ATI Radeon graphics card I have. Didn't think of that.
  7. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem. I'm running Rebellion on Windows XP Home on a 1024x768 32-bit resolution. Never had a problem with it until Tuesday evening. After doing a little readjusting character attributes with RebEd, I launched the game. I had all the sound of the introduction, but no visual. Even when I got to the menu, I had the music, but no cockpit or background. Just a black screen. Thinking maybe it was just a lapse in the resolution switch, I tried the standard Esc, Space Bar, and Enter tricks. Got nothing. I hit the Windows key, and my desktop came back up. The only problem was the right side was on the left, and the left was on the right, and there was a three-inch black bar running down the center of it. It proceeded to blink like a strobe light until I turned the monitor off and turned it back on. Then it was fine. A few more experiments with this brought the same result. Then today, it finally worked. I got into the game and was able to see everything. But whenever I click on a message icon, I receive the "Rebellion has performed an illegal operation..." window and the game shuts down, oftentimes reverting my monitor to its ridiculous inside-out state. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem is? My first guess is the monitor's pretty much shot, or at least needs to be readjusted in some way. I've switched down to 800x600 and had the same results. Even went to the properties menu of Rebellion itself and selected the "Run in 256 color mode" and 640x480 resolution boxes. Still the same result. And to boot, sometimes it switches halfway. I get everything on half the screen, right in the middle with a giant translucent white box over it. The sides of the screen are black, but the bottom portion of the center plays the game animations, while that milky sheen covers it and the top half of the center of the screen. I've also reinstalled the game, uninstalled and installed it (losing a pair of games in the process) and partial-installed a few things from RebEd itself. Nothing's worked so far. Time to get a new monitor? Or is there some trick for me to find up my sleeve with a little help?
  8. So this applies to adding, not necessarily modifying? I mean, I got most of the details for modifying from other topics and threads, which I should have clarified. I've tried thinking of a possible way to add titles and ranks to characters rather than just changing "Commander" to "Captain". But unless I'm overlooking a loophole, those ranks would be blanked out since there's only the three slots available (Admiral, General, Commander) in RebEd and such. That's what I was getting at. If that's at all possible, a little bit of help as to how to deal with that would be much appreciated.
  9. Newbie question. Is it possible to add ranks via ResHack to those possible for the characters, i.e. Captain, Major, Colonel, Lieutenant, etc.? Not necessarily all of them, but one or two?

    Card Viewer

Okay, then. Anyway, does anyone have it that could possibly sent it to me over AIM or something?

    Card Viewer

I got a new computer, since my other one died, and I'm readding all the files I lost on that one onto this one. One of the ones I'm missing is the old RebEd Card Viewer. I got it here a while ago, and unless I've somehow overlooked it once or twice, I can't find it anymore. Does anyone have a copy or know a link to where I can download it again? Any help would be much appreciated. Oh, and anyone who has links to cards other than the database here...well, feel free to post 'em. Worded that sentence wrong, but ah, well.
  12. What exactly is it that this EXEScope thing does that RebEd doesn't?
  13. The whole deal with the card sites going down has left me with one question... Anyone remember the RebEd Custom Units site? That big monster DB of cards and all...it was directly linked to SWRebellion.net, I checked on my old favorites list, and it obviously doesn't work anymore. Would there be any way that that could be salvaged? And if not the site, some of the more unique cards and units from it? I used that a lot, especially when I couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere else. Just curious.
