  1. wicked work Mask now I'm off to crush the Reb.... err... load the new textures.
  2. Sorry, that's because when I started most of the releases were imperial ones. 'Tis all about ballance, you know mate, I'm not complaining. I remember when this game first came out.... and since then you have put a lot of really good work into it.
  3. Well at least you tried. Good on ya for it... it does look like a good model (apart from a bit of the textures). It's nice to see some work on the Imperial ships..... when you look at the models, most of the later models are from the Rebel side.
  4. Yeah..... so that's the way it's supposed to look? okay.
  5. Hi, Just loaded up the files. There's texture problems in game. Sorry for the bad news.
  6. Actually, I remember this was documented somewhere, when you use Han Solo to move around characters or special forces, they hyperspace around twice as fast. Put the Falcon to good use! Yep, it's in the game manual..... it's supposed to simulate traving by the Falcon. You just have to group the additional characters or units with Han Solo.
  7. With Lith, I keep getting a message saying it requires a directX 8.0 HAL device. but, I didn't d/l it from your site...... the link is down.
  8. does this mean he should go into hiding on Dagobah? exit.... stage left
  9. I'm going to try gmax...it might be easier to import the pic and it seems that what most ppl are using...
  10. okay, I found I can view the extracted *.x model with the D3D viewer ( the Lith Unwrap won't open the file) By the way, this is the first time I've done anything like this and I'm putting it all down here in case there are other people wondering how to do this. How to use the d3d viewer (from the Mask's site...thank you Mask ): When you open the viewer, you get a Microsoft logo spinning slowly. Left click on it, then open edit and select delete. The logo prevents you from seeing your ship file. Then go to file and select "open mesh", select your extracted ship file. Now you should get a blob in the centre ofthe screen. Left click on it, and press the Z key lightly.....this will zoom the picture, the X key will make it smaller. Click and dragging with the left mouse button will rotate the pic, the same procedure with the right button will drag the pic around the screen. Open the Renderer option and select "wireframe" to get a wireframe model (yes, I'm stating the bloody obvious ). Also in the Renderer options is "Lighting". Uncheck it to get a brighter model. Now I got to figure out how I can import these pics to a 3D program (in my case, Lightwave)....any suggestions? btw, to all those who made it possible to edit models: thank you and especially to Mask with providing the tools and how to's.
  11. hi how do you convert the .x file for a ship into something you can see in a modeling program? I read Mask's tutorial... and got as far as extracting the file and saving it as a biniary .x file....but I can't go any further. Any suggestions?
  12. the_Mask's site has what you need..... and what you need that you don't yet know you need
  13. G'day......yes, first post but I've been here for quite awhile. I got SWR way back when it first came out and I've watched the guys here slowly add mods to my favourite game from the first cards to new ship models...all without any support from the developers. Brilliant work guys. In fact, their work has made a great game even better.
