  1. Hi guys I'm pretty keen to start a game up ASAP, I've had myself a "training game" against the AI to polish off the rust. I could still only really play Fri/sat/Sun though as I work full time.
  2. What do people think is the optimal number of facilities (shipyard/construction /troop) of the same type on a single system? With the diminishing returns, I'm thinking maybe only 3-4. I guess you need to factor in having to bolster your defense on more planets in the sector though,which kind of complicates matters.

  4. Boy, that is tough to see, but if you look close enough you can tell the difference. I know X-wing: Alliance had some font issues when run in higher resolutions and users were able to create a work around FONTS.DAT file that fixed the text. I was hoping the same might have happened for SWR, but I guess not (so far)
  5. I'm pretty sure I've seen the KDY fire at enemie troops performing the planetary assault
  6. I managed to trigger an uprising a few moments ago on a system with only 1 troop for garrison. My agents did not send me a report about their success though. They "continued" on their mission and some days later either that troop left (or was killed by the crowd) because the system actually switched to my faction. Please note no other diplomatic action/battles occurred in the sector (so it wasn't an "external" event that changed the loyalty slider in my favour)

Hi Whenever I seem to successfully incite an uprising on an enemy planet my agents don't provide me with a message regarding the mission outcome, but the system declares neutrality. all the systems I've achieved this on since returning to SWR have not had a garrison present. Does this work differently if the enemy does have at least one troop stationed on the planet or is it a bug?

Hi The way I remember it from back in the old Windows 98 days, when you looked at your list of messages from your droid, any that you hadn't yet read showed up in bold text (the ones you had read already were in normal font) I recently re-installed this on my new Windows XP machine (E6750 with GF8600GT) and now all messages appear in normal text, making it a lot harder to work out which messages I've read already. Does anyone else have thhis problem and is there a fix for it? (I'm running v1.0 of SWR since most posts on this site indicate that it's more stable)
  9. Hi guys Are the Ion Cannons worth building or not? I know they shoot at assaulting troops and I'm wondering if they reduce the bombardment modifier of enemy ships or not. From what I've read here so far, most players are big fans of the shields and don't consider the LNR defense to be worthwhile but I haven't read much about the humble KDY-150.

  12. Hi there, I'm looking for someone to play a game of vanilla (mainly to be played on weekends) to start sometime after February 1st If you are keen please PM me and I'll give you my msn details. I am on Central Australian Daylight Savings Time and would generally only be looking to play between 7pm-12am Friday, 1pm -11pm Sat/Sun (local time).
  13. I was aware of HQ Colonization from my single player games but was not aware of ghost fleeting and the espionage bugs. To me these last two bugs are clearly exploits, but I always considered the HQ colonization to be a "feature" for the Alliance. So the online community would generally consider HQ Colonization to be an exploit also?
  14. From what I've read so far, it sounds like the mods are mainly geared to making single play more challenging as well as better graphics. So does that mean most of the multi-player games use vanilla?
