  1. Back before I knew of RebED I played as the Rebels, Small Galaxy, medium difficulty. I liberated two of the systems in the Seswenna sector causing the loyalty of Coruscant to shift my way. I tried to go to Coruscant directly, but my fleet of Corvettes with an Escort Carrier was no match for a Star Destroyer and accompanying TIE Fighters. I had to withdraw, but I decided to blockade nearby Ghorman in hopes of luring the Star Destroyer away. It worked. As soon as I saw the Star Destroyer was en route for Ghorman, I booked it back Coruscant. After a long one sided skirmish with the unaided TIE Fighters, I had Coruscant blockaded, but I knew I didn't have much time before that Star Destroyer came back. I had Luke and Han and some Twilek and other pro alien sabetours en tow, so I managed to sabatoge the GenCore Shield (of course Luke had to be a decoy or else he would fail because the emperor). By now the Star Destroyer was a day out, but they still had a KDY Ion gun still functioning. I decided to hell with it and bombarded the planet once or twice. I had an admiral and luck on my side, and Coruscant for the first time in a long time declared neutrality. Luke confronted and captured the emperor as he tried to break through my blockade (with help from my fleet I am sure). I decided to jump out before the Star Destroyer arrived, and I guess my stylish good looks or good sense of timing appealed to the inhabitants of Coruscant, because they immediately joined my cause. That was day 125 and the crazy thing is this was actually standard game victory conditions. Don't ask me how I captured Vader before hand because I have no idea.
  2. There is a chance element, so unless this is consistent you probably just got lucky. If not that, maybe Leia flashed him and he realized he has ED which emotionally scarred him and distracted him from battle.
  3. Diplomacy missions are helped along significantly when you have double or triple the troop minimum a general on planet for those troops and a fleet orbiting the planet (The larger the better). You get a super bonus when the Death Star is also orbiting the planet (Can't imagine why). I'm not sure about entire sectors being affected by the Death Star's presence, but it wouldn't surprise me. By the time I get around to building a Death Star I've already crushed all real resistance and there's no one left for me to fight I would think twice before actually going around blowing up planets, because that is probably the fastest way to go from all powerful controller of everything to whoops, the whole galaxy supports the Rebel Alliance and my planets that all have at least 6 regiments of troops deployed each have went into uprising and are being overthrown by their populations. Not that I would know anything about that... I regret nothing!
  4. In my considerable time playing Rebellion, the only time Han gets captured by bounty hunters is when you separate him from Chewie. Even then though, it comes down to what I think is a coin flip. I have never EVER had bounty hunters capture Solo when I am the Empire. They always will locate him though, which is something. In response to another poster: Yes, I totally have Luke go after Vader when he's up to Jedi Knight level. He never loses the final battle once he's Jedi Knight for me at least.
  5. Ok, this is going to sound crazy, but I have spent a LOT of time playing Rebellion. Years ago I decided to just max out the speed when playing as the Rebellion and let the Empire capture every planet so I could see the end losing video or something. Luke was on my last planet. Mon Mothma and the HQ had long been destroyed. I decided to send him on a espionage mission and while Luke was on the mission, the last planet was captured. When Luke's mission was I over, I kid you not, Degobah appeared in the galaxy and Luke fled to it. No, Yoda did not become a usable character. I couldn't believe it. I've since tried to recreate this event so I could see what sector Degobah appears in, but it hasn't come together right. Has anyone else had this happen? Anyways, maybe your Luke is on Degobah as well. If so, I don't know what to tell you other than hope an espionage mission will locate Degobah for you.
